If we have no goal, means become the goal. In oder not to die from boredom because the goal is missing, and in order not to drown in “subjectivities” (egoism) I want to see if two people can agree about a single goal for their lives. This place is where goals can be shown and people invited to join them.
Did you mean “the same goal for each separately” (as individuals) or “the same goal for both together” (as a team)?
Or perhaps even, “the competition for the one goal”?
All 3 together.
- Sex
- Marriage
- Offspring
- Suicide Pact
All aspects of the same thing.
My goal is to scout the environment I am currently living in. Basically, to better adapt to and take advantage of it. Subsequent goals would be based upon, derived from, what is collected.
The goal is also to make the surrounding environment easier to navigate socially and psychologically, to soften the impact divergence creates.
My current short-term goals are to finish my studies and get a job (which I didn’t have in 2-3 years.) I am also focusing on getting a girl and meeting and dealing with people.
That would be it. What else is there?
We are talking about goals for which entire nations have been created. Something that has brought them together.
Currently we are looking for means but have no goals, this produces an enormous lack of measure and idiotization.
We need a goal for which this means will be used! Not anymore subjective, individualistic egoism, but a goal for which you want to die and reach GLORY! A goal that will be passed over thousands of years of new generations!

When you try to equate ends and means as one thing, in the concrete, temporal now, you end up with absurdities.
Come on… both you and I know you started this thread to present a great ideal we all should be doing, might as well just state it.
(+ 2 points over Sauwelios +1 for being more inventive in presenting a original, yet ultimately recycled Nietzschean idea. The idea isn’t original, but the presentation is.)

So the ultimate goal there would be what Death?
For nations, 1 goal - ultimate global survival
The means: Pay attention, listen, compromise, look back on history and come to realize that the means do not justify the end.
Nations and societies are not formed for reasons of “survival”. This may think losers from England. As plato says, societies come toghether when villagers start to produce more than they need. When a market is formed for the surplus of products.
Sure they do. Two relatively large groups of people will form a pact together if they recognize a common enemy. This can in turn lead to the surplus production of commodities if this new combined group is not forced to move by mobilization to war, food sources, or weather (they may not continue roaming). So the initial reason you propose for the formation of a society- the surplus of goods- can actually be a secondary result of the forming of a society for the purposes of defending themselves from a common enemy within a confined location.
Surprised Plato couldn’t figure that out. There again I haven’t read much Plato, so maybe he did somewhere. I’d hate to think the dude wasn’t intelligent enough to know this.
We don’t care if the will to power and overabundance can lead to death. Death is not so important, since we will all die anyway. So, “survival” makes no sense.
If people have a common goal and they want to discover the means to it, I rather think that survival does make sense.
Otherwise, why bother if someone is so frivilous about dying? Unless your common goal is to just die a heroic death, a hero’s death. Then the common goal would be simply to throw yourself on the sword or the grendade or whatever.
You were talking about setting up a goal.
Setting up a goal which presumes heroism, just as warriors are predecessors of the saints. Reach the goal or die trying. What did Zarathustra say to the Higher men in his cave? Get ready for war…
kids and their little wooden swords… I need to fight rarr rarr no idea what I should fight about, just that I need to fight rarr here lets fight each other rarr lets conquer some fucking… banana peels rarr
Look away from the phoneutria, Historyboy, and remember Zarathustra’s sermon on the tarantulas.
(that was funny though. now recognize your latent sense of humor and ADMIT IT)
I can’t start anything with a bunch of egoists. And this forum is a spider net full of egoists flying on every shit.
Um, any REAL Nietzschean would not only tolerate rascals and scoundrels, but sometimes even seek them out. For they have one advantage over many others; they are not mediocre.
Okay so it’s not verbatim but pretty damn close.
