Some surprising like the psychobiology of sperm for example. Or ideas about preclampsia happening less to chicks who swallow. I’m sure I remember reading something about how women are flirtiest when they’re maximally distant from ovulation, with the theory being that any undesired men who’d been eying them up would be provoked into mating with them (or raping them even) at the time when they’d be least likely to actually impregnate them. Men whose sperm they wanted could be enticed at ovulation time.
And then there’s the stuff about domestic violence levels peaking at full moons.
Yeah, Cyrene, these are some things I think about very often as well. I consider the full relevance of the sperm cell as a wholistic-biological organism. Only within the last few days have I correlated that there could be a difference between the full moon and ovulation cycles between females. Do females regulate their cycles unconsciously with accordance to the full moon? Is there a relevance to when a woman is impregnated and how the timing affects the traits of the child? It seems as though there could be.
Why do full moons bring out “craziness” in people? Could it be that women are ovulating and men go “temporarily psychotic or insane” so that they may fuck some ovulating women and spread their seed? I don’t know…
One can see such things at play in any social setting where the genders interact - I hang-out with a party-pal (another female) and groups of females seem to guard their male companions from us by using subtle social ques
I wouldn’t want/don’t rate a male who’s herded up like some kind of animal, so it works out good for me…
