SIATD's ILP Christmas Message

In the manner to which the Queen is accustomed (though of course Colin takes that badge here at ILP) I’ve decided to deliver a Christmas message to the community here, thanking it for everything it has given me over the last few months. Now I am aware that everyone from Ali G to Avid Merrion to Ozzy Osbourne has done the ‘alternative Christmas message’ thing so I’ll leave that to one side: this isn’t satirical, or at least is not intended as such.

ILP is one of the best friends a boy could have. As someone whose only pets have been gerbils (frantic but very loveable) and cats (inherently selfish) I’ve never known the companionship of a dog, well, not a literal dog. We’ve all made mistakes, we all live and learn. Nightclubs are dark places and beer goggles are powerful forces…

ILP offers so much and asks so little and as such is epitomised by the song that a few of you will have heard (I believe Gamer composed it - ben, please post a link). It provides information, both accurate and otherwise, it provides an almost endless stream of people with which to argue and elseways play and a range of views that I’ve not seen on any other board of its kind. The community is strong, or at least addicted. Either way, there’s a determination here that I genuinely respect, one that positively revels in controversy.

Christmas is a time for cliches, so I’ll throw one to the wind: ILP is greater than the sum of its parts, and therein lies its most wonderful qualities

Merry Christmas, or whatever it is that you are doing (the pubs in Britain are open even today - what a commitment this nation has to servicing the amateur alcoholics) and here’s to many more years of rich, creamy, ILP goodness!

Although I am but fifteen days old, I say cheers to that…

Although I am against the mercantile side of Christmas, I say let’s drink to that…

Although I am not British (not wholely, anyway), I say God save the noble ILP, God save the gracious ILP…

Although I find Christmas socially sad, I say Merry Christmas…

Although I am not Jewish (not wholely, anyway), I say shalom…

ILP is dead, long live ILP

thank you…

Cheers to all!

If you thought about christmas, hope you had a great one. If not, you didn’t miss out. :stuck_out_tongue: Either way, we’re all fine.

awwwww SIATD… that was soo lame!!! but nonetheless appropriate.

ILP is pretty awesome…

Or in French:
Le ILP est mort, vive le ILP!!

Christmas messages are lame, and full of trite rhetoric. That’s certainly the style I was going for, anyway…

Le ILP or L’ILP?

We need a french person…

Okay technically you’re correct, I was merely substituting.

I’m still not sure, so you can perk your head back up…

Lol!!!

nice come back, Someone.

A very English response, I’d like to think…
