Silly Song

There’s a little lyceum
A 'living in my pentium
There’s plenty pandemonium
But that’s all right with me.
I don’t want to work,
I wanna talk philosophy,
I love philosophy.
I love you ILP.

People come from every town
To speak about the world around them,
You should hear the sound,
Resounding, pounding of the keys.
We don’t want to live
We wanna love philosophy.
We love it, you and me,
We love you ILP…

for free!

I love the babbling mundanity.
I love the rabble-rousing reads.
I love a perfect stranger planting seeds
In the soil of my psyche,
I’m toiling and typing,
And hoping you like me,
Won’t you please…
See…
Me.

The ubermench, the cogito
Leviathan, le logico
Tractatus, enchiladas
And what god is all about.
Transcendental, Continental,
Fig-ur-ing-it-out.
I think therefore I doubt.
I shout and ergo sum,
I love you ILP dot com…

Ah, but you’re not a calming influence.
You make me chatter in my sleep!
Got me reciting recent diatribes
From memory, and trembling from them
Rearranging the centuries,
renaming the empty sea…
In…
Me.

Ben’s the Brit who started it
Perhaps he goes to Oxford Hall
No one really knows him…
All-knowing nosy know-it-all…
But he’s the one who brought the fun,
We love him one and all.
We love philosophy.
We love you ILP.

::applause::
Well done.

great poem…

“Tractatus, enchiladas”

a cheezy proposition that led to the…

Vienna (Sausage) Circle

I liked this too…

well done!

Soon to be recorded to a snappy brit melody for private ILP release.

Very nice, Gamer #3?

LOL!!

  Imp, thanks for the laughs tonight. I really needed to relax—lots of reading to do, and writing.

I’m still laughing at this right now

Rage m3 sent me a very simple charming mp3 of this song, just vocal and piano. It’s kind of cute, it has take-one appeal. I can forward it on to interested parties, with Rage’s permission of course.

Bring the Rage.

This is true genius!

I urge everyone to get a copy. With Rag3’s permission I’d like to host it on ILP somewhere?

Ben

(The Brit who started it!)

I suppose that would B an honor. Just know that I did nothing to perfect the vocal and there are breaths, popped p’s and some fairly lame phrasings, not to mention a stodgy piano arrangement, but hey I’m not a singer and I’m not going for the Grammy (anymore.) In sum, it’s not ready for prime time, but it’s a cute little custom number for yee all.

Here it is for all to download:

I couldn’t get it to play in Windows Media Player but iTunes played it fine. I’m sure it could be convereted to mp3 but at the moment I am too lazy!

Enjoy!

the easiest way is actually with iTunes. (if the latest version still lets you, haven’t used it in awhile).

maybe someone else currently familiar with iTunes can help you? (not that it’s a huge deal, most players can play m4a)

 Loved it RAGE…

You’re a very talented chap, Gamer/Rage/Marge (and any other personalities I failed to mention).
You have a good voice and can carry a tune, too. I’ve heard professionals who couldn’t sing that well outside their million dollar sound studios.

PS. It opens in RealPlayer for anyone who has Real on his or her machine.

Yeah, it’s a cute little snappy brit melody. I love it.

Thanks, Rage m3<–>Gamer!

Nice vocal.

That’s bloody great that is. Weird, but bloody great.

DELIGHTFUL! Bloody marvelous!

jeez, it’s nothing. so simplistic. but thanks! fun to get something custom made like that? I don’t really sound like a dandy fop in real life. my voice is chameleonic. i sing poorly in twenty different styles and voices. some have whiskers, some are clean shaven.

Yes perhaps but it’s the game Gamer!

I’m glad I finally got a chance to listen.

Sounds Beatles-y. Doesn’t sound American. Definitely not John Wayne.
