Simplicity

I have often thought that we humans make things way too complex. Life doesn’t make sense when we humans attempt to explain this world. I mean, we have brains… but its almost like we are killing ourselves by human understanding and reasoning. IMO, we need to slow down and return to simplicity - of course I am referring to Jesus’s main teachings that blew away the Pharisees and caught the attention of so many misled individuals. God gave us brains - to decide our own fate - that we are doing indeed.

So you are suggesting that we delude ourselves for the purpose of making our lives less complex?

I don’t see why god didn’t just give us simple brains. Why did he give us brains at all?

btw we don’t kill ourselves with understanding and reasoning in general, it helps us to survive. Its only certain types of understanding and reasoning that could perhaps be detrimental. :sunglasses:

Delude? Whenever did I suggest that…

But if you know the Bible - You would understand my meaning - Yet you will never be able to see God’s Word as He intended it unless your eyes are opened by Him.

God gave us complex brains to reason - and that we do! Yet sometimes our reasoning gets us into trouble.

This, of course, is a “born-again” perspective - My foundation is the Word of God - and though I am not tolerant of any doctrine besides the Bible (No - not man’s version - God’s) I respect other’s views. So, in other words, I’m not trying to be rude or condescending. =) Further, Im no uppity religious person - just a saved sinner with faith.

in order to be saved you first would’ve had to have sinned.

And I tell you this.

you have not sinned in the christian sense.

I’m not going to get to deep into this right now, but basically christianity requires two things.

#1 original sin (death, sex, pissing off god)

#2 savior from sin with sacrifice (to end our sacrificing of animals every week god sacrificed himself for our sins.)

#1) This requires Creation. This requires no death before man was around, and is shown by the fossil record, man clearly was not around when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and things were dying before man came onto the scene. So if Original sin is nullified…

#2) this becomes pointless, we don’t need a savior to save us from sin, and certainly not death.

So then of what use is christ at all? Well that’s a good question I think christ was an excellent teacher of relationships with man and with god, it may have even been that he thought he was a special son of god. (there’s one verse in which his family comes to see him, and he says such, and his family exclaims “clearly he is out of his mind!”)

Perhaps if your belief didn’t contain that of promoting Christianity, then you would get more people to post on it.

Simplicity is a good thing… its a refuge to those who are devoted to thinking deep thoughts, giving themselves headaches, and then they get tired. When delving into contemplating and making speculations of God for too long, it is good to just lay back in the evening and relax, and not think on it anymore until a later time.

But to be simplistic constantly… is unacceptable in my view. God gave us brains, so that we could use them… not to waste on 100% simplicity, 100% of the time.
