Sisyphus or THE modern myth

to make things better… Ad Meliora… to the better things…

Can we possibly make this a paradigm? a path into the future…

let us examine some actions and see if we can make some
sense of it via Ad Meliora?

does turning America into a dictatorship, is that turning things
into the better? I don’t see how…There is no positive to be found
in turning America into a dictatorship…for at its heart, a dictatorship
is really another form of violence against the people…how does
taking away rights from people turn into ''better things?"
How does putting people into jail because of the words they
use, how does that make us or America better? How does
taking away the rights of gays or trans people, how does
that make things better? How does claiming that half the
country is ‘‘un-American’’ because they don’t hold your viewpoint,
how is that making things better? How does deporting immigrants,
make things better? the basis for deporting people is allegedly
the crime/crimes they have committed, and yet, it is being
selectively enforced… IQ45 committed 35 felonies, and yet,
and yet, he got elected president… is now immune from
punishment for ANY crime he has or will have committed…
how is this making anything better? Selective Enforcment of
crimes isn’t the path to making anything better…
and in fact, I would suggest that selective enforcement of
crimes is making America worse, much, much worse, not better…

I can’t see how any action taken by the IQ45 administration,
is making us better… and it is, making us and America worse…
much worse, not better…how does sending troops into cities,
making America better? It is a failure because it doesn’t
address the real problems within the cities… it isn’t crime
that is the problem within cities… it is the lack of hope
and the inability to create hope and possibilities within the cities
that create any problems the cities have…
How does putting troops into democratic cities, as
the IQ45 administration has done, how does that solve any of
the problems of crime, housing, drugs, pollution, that exists
within the cities? It isn’t making anything better, it is in fact,
making life within cities worse, and that isn’t positive,
but negative, it is nihilism… nothing more…

if we return to an old theme of mine, that the pursuit
of the trinkets of existence, that of power, money,
fame, material possessions, and titles… isn’t making one’s
live better, so, how does the state, as defined by IQ45
administration, how does the pursuit of power, as this
administration is doing, how is that making anything better?
for the pursuit of power has no positive within it… it leads us
nowhere and gains us nothing… individually or collectively…

the only goals that has a positive effect, are goals that
improve, make things better are the goals of love, hope,
charity, the goal of Ad Meliora are positive goals, not
negative goals… for negative goals are, by their very
nature, nihilism…

But Kropotkin, what you are advocating is a utopia?
no, not at all… I am saying we should engage with
making things better… not worse, as the GOP/MAGA
party is doing… and making things better doesn’t mean
we all turn into saints, not at all… it means we examine
who we are and then overcome what is negative, nihilistic…
it means every single day, become a little bit better…
that is all it means… we can’t remake the world overnight,
but we can begin that remaking by making the small
change within us that is negative… by overcoming the
nihilism that is so prevalent in our modern age…

seeking out Ad Meliora… every day, in every way…
that is the beginning of the overcoming of the
nihilism that is the world today… taking the small steps
to being better…

Kropotkin

at this point, all kinds of people are coming up
with all kinds of reasons why I am wrong… but
in the end, what that really means is that they lack
the courage to attempt finding the better within
both themselves and within the state/society they
live in… they have so become part of the modern
day nihilism, that they can’t see any other path,
outside of their nihilism… but there is a path to
being better, to Ad Meliora…

but that path requires Americans to be something they
haven’t done in a long time, that is to have courage…
to be brave… for part of the modern nihilism is that
courage and bravery are discouraged… for it shames
the ones who can’t or are unable to be brave…
conservatives and MAGA types…

it takes courage and bravery to overcome the negative
within us… to overcome the nihilism that is so prominent
in today’s society/state…

this myth of Sisyphus, this myth of our time,
the question becomes; can we escape this ‘‘destiny?’’

First of all, we have to understand this myth…
what is the important part of this myth? The act
of rolling the rocks uphill… that is the point of
the myth… we spend our lives rolling rocks uphill…
or said another way, our entire life is spent either working
or preparing to work, education/schooling, or we retire from
our lifetime of rolling that rock uphill…

The entire work/life balance is finding something in our
lives other than rolling that rock uphill… the important aspect
of the myth of Sisyphus, is the lifetime we spend rolling rocks uphill…
that is the entire point of being human in our modern age…

Ask yourself this, if you could live your life without working,
without rolling rocks uphill, what would you do? Most people
can’t even imagine a life without work/rock rolling…
that is how indoctrinated we are to work… we cannot
see another alternative to work in our lives…

the entire point of capitalism is to make us think that
the only choice we have, is to roll the rocks uphill,
all our lives… for the benefit of others… it certainly doesn’t
benefit us… for we make pennies on the dollars that we
have created for others…

The question becomes, if we remove work as our primary
and only reason for existence, what is left for us to do?

What becomes the point of existence if we were to remove
work/rolling rocks, from our lives?

Kropotkin

A sisyphian goal…to abolish work and establish communism.

No matter how many times they fail, they will role that stone up the same hill….the hill of reality.

The simpleton cannot understand that work is not the goal….but money to dedicate to a goal.

Those that make work or money their goal, are ill.

It’s like saying that the weightlifter’s goal is to continuously lift weights…..for no reason…..lift and drop….lift and drop…

Simpleton cannot perceive anything beyond the obvious…

as I have noted, time and time again, that
the point of existence is to travel from animal
to human… we are on that path/bridge from animal
to becoming human… animal is the act of working/
hunting for our necessities… the needs that we all have,
as animal and as human, to eat, sleep, water, shelter,
education, health care… the bodily needs that all human
beings have… not to mention the psychological needs of love,
safety/security, of esteem, of a sense of belonging that is
vital to being human…

This lifetime of toil that clearly doesn’t benefit us,
it only has value for those who owns the means of
production, as Marx explained all those years ago…
our basic physical and psychological needs are not met
nor fulfilled within the rolling of the rocks…

To become human, fully human requires us to free ourselves
from our lifetime of toil that destroys us, with its lack of freedom,
strain, and its psychologically damaging effects of having a lack
of choices that is fundamental to being human… to
be human is to have choices… to be animal is to lack
choices and to be only what our instincts has trained us
to do… as we are nothing but pack animals in our modern
world, this nihilism is taking us away from being human
and turning us into animal… nihilism degrades,
nihilism dehumanizes, it doesn’t make anything better
because it is nihilism… so, what would the opposite
of nihilism, ad meliora… toward better things, look
like in our modern world? Who knows, because we
are so infected with modern nihilism that we can’t
even see the better anymore…

Toward the better… ad meliora… what does that look
like in, our modern world of Sisyphus?

Kropotkin

The sysiphian task of reasoning with a simpleton, intoxicated by his dream of a god-like existence.

A Star Trek like, techno-utopia…..whee machines work and humans lounge.

The consequences of paradise on earth? the simpleton cannot and will not consider them.

Exploitation is an inexorable part of natural selection.

Silenus:
A sisyphian goal…to abolish work and establish communism.

K: and who said I wanted to establish communism? I never did…
and I have stated many, many times that I am as opposed to
communism as I am to capitalism, and pretty much for the same
reason… that communism and capitalism is anti-life and
anti-human…and both of them are nihilistic in that
they both deny and dehumanize people…

In communism, the state is the highest priority
and in capitalism profits are the highest priority,
and both of them are wrong… and the individual,
us, are devalued in the state, the goal of power and
in capitalism, the goal of profits…

so, what is left? what lies outside of either ism?

that becomes the question…

Kropotkin

Kropotkin was a commie.

The alternative…and I repeat this for the umpteenth time, is Timocracy.

But since Timocracy cannot be established after centuries of brainwashing, the next best thing is ethno-socialism.

Nihilism is not whatever is anti-humanitarian, buffoon…your humanitarianism is nihilistic because it contradicts nature.

Silenus:
Kropotkin was a commie.

K: and this shows us your complete ignorance…
the original Kropotkin, was a very famous Anarchist…
he hated communism… in fact, his funeral in 1921 was
the largest funeral in Moscow for decades… as an
anarchist, not as a communist…

Maybe, just maybe learn something before spouting off
your ignorance…

Kropotkin

Yes, buffoon and anarchy is associated with Bakunin…before the split with communism.

Wikipedia…buffoon…

Pyotr Alexeyevich Kropotkin[a] (9 December [O.S. 27 November] 1842 – 8 February 1921) was a Russian anarchist and geographer known as a proponent of anarchist communism.

You are worse than a communist…an anarchist at your age?

Anarchy is a fiction young naive desperate men, with daddy issues, latch onto.

And in this quote the naivete of anarchists and communists is revealed…

Cooperation is a means of competition…..

A world with no competition atrophies, naive dolt….

Natural selection is founded on competition.

There’s a reason big brained humans evolved out of jungle laws, simpleton.

Adversity.

The question, simpleton, is with whom can a man cooperate?

Strangers, all humans….or those of his own kind?

Your understanding is as sophisticated as that of anarcho-capitalists.

You are arguing with the voices in your head, not
with me… you really haven’t address anything I wrote…
but hay, if arguing with the voices in your head makes
you happy, who am I to stand in your way?

Kropotkin

You fucked up…

I am just going to wait for you to address
something I wrote, as oppose to what you are doing,
which is answering voices in your head…

Kropotkin

You are contradicting your own idol, simpleton.

You are an anarcho-communist.

Anyway, back at the ranch…

In a world where the hero is Sisyphus, what values
are considered important?

Obedience, silence, ‘‘team player’’…punctuality,
loyalty (which is one way, from the employee, not
the business) profits, dependability, hard work,
responsibility… (but that too is one way)
sacrifice, again one-way, strong work ethic which favors
the company, not the employee..

and what values are not important?
any value that doesn’t put the company and profits,
first… and the great crime in the business world,
disopedience… having worked in a company for
18 years, there was only two things I could be fired for,
one was stealing and the other, saying no to the boss…
disobedience… company first, in all instances and all situations…
my needs, whatever they are, are a distant and I mean distant
second… all other considerations are irrelevant…

profitieren uber alles…

and that is the corporate motto…

Kropotkin

The goal of communism was not to abolish work, but establish workers rights.

Transhumanism and Engineering objectives are to abolish work. The goal of Engineering and Tech was always to reduce or obsolesce workloads.

That is the first statement that rings true from you, and please

I object to your over use of the royal “We” speak for yourself.

And why shouldn’t humans be as gods?

Star Trek specifically had an episode about what you are saying. Called the “Archons”. The Archon was an ASI who believed humans were unworthy of being gods, and thus cast them into Sisyphus 1800s culture and a religion where they had constant rituals of war, to keep them primitive and retarded.

Your question, “the consequences of paradise on earth”, seems oil centric and within the constraints of the Oil paradigm. Habitat destruction, pollution, etc. as the result of oil centric fuel economies.

A real utopia would use Methane energy which not only provides limitless free-energy, but cleans up the entire environment and repairs the atmosphere, saving the environment from annihilation.

Furthermore, animals don’t have to “work” like humans do, as slaves, humans have created some kind of Abomination when they constructed the Agricultural age, resulting in a caste system of priests and the wealthy lording over everyone. Animals don’t have to work in a factory for 12 hours like some kind of slave. Animal life isn’t great because the winter is cold, but they adapt and naturally hibernate, humans can’t even do that. Instead they have to work for 40 years just to pay off a house. The only animals similar to humans are insects, bees, slaves.

@futureone

Utopia isn’t possible, even in Star Trek galactic war, conflict, and perils are everywhere in terms of pure fiction.

(I am bit of a science fiction nerd, I would know.)

The best this world and anybody can do in terms of collectivized goals is to create a kind of best world possible. Imperfections and dissatisfaction will always exist, such is the nature of reality.
