So... i can't say the r-word?

i wrote a thing and showed it to my friend. at the end i wrote something like “it was retarded of me to assume” and he said:

“you know you’re not suppose to say that right?”

and even though i was using it to refer to myself it’s still not appropriate according to him. but this juxtaposes with what i see online as many people even have it as part of their daily vocabulary.

so anyways, can i say it or not?

Jesus fucking christ we are literally back to pre-school levels now…
“You cant say that word. Its a bad word”
The only thing thats missing is “im going to tell the teacher”.

The response should have been “i only wrote retarded, you are acting it out. Stop it”.
I was raised in the 80s and i am now confronted with the fact that being able to separate meaning from emotion has become an actual life skill, cause certain people become incapable of thought the moment something triggers their emotions.

And just to answer your question: There is freedom of speech. You can say whatever you want to say.

So who decided that ‘intellectually disabled’ is more acceptable to idiots, cretins and imbeciles than ‘retarded’? ‘Mentally retarded’ means mentally ‘slow’ or ‘hindered’. People (American retards) can get fucked with their word policing.

You cannot say that.

He just did.

There’s a wonderful Canadian series called Murdoch Mysteries. It’s full of subtle humour and irony. There’s a hilarious scene where the salty inspector Brackenreid exclaimed that it was hard to believe that such a wonderful object was built by an imbecile. Constable Crabtree sheepishly corrected him, saying, 'I believe such people are no longer referred to as ‘imbecile’ sir. It’s felt to be demeaning. The correct word to use nowadays is ‘moron’.

lol! when was it made?

Murdoch Mysteries? It’s still being made.

The only one who could stop you is ‘you’.

Sounds retarded.

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

I find myself saying it because I’m retar… don’t.

Judge dismisses your case and you get sentenced to 35 years in jail.

You can’t dismiss my case and sentence me.

That’s retarded.
