I was just standing there
Looking at nothing
Nothing about nothing
Wishing for nothing
Specific
But
Everything I’m supposedly denied
Without being capable of
Asking for it correctly.
Dumb as a human and as inadequate as one as well.
The mirror’s reflection wasn’t a plague
Or a companion
But a reminder that
Yes, i am here and have the right to question and have the right to ask for
Something instead of nothing
For something more than anything.
Very cool. Almost e.e. cummings-ish in the way it makes you stop to read every word of the poem. Or at least that’s what I got out of it.
I have a few suggestions:
“Dumb as a human and as inadequate as one as well.”
This line seems too long. I know what you’re trying to say and I enjoy the thought, but there are simply too many words.
“Yes, i am here and have the right to question and have the right to ask for”
I’d divide this line into two or three seperate lines. It kind of throws off the cadence you set. But this I may be wrong on.
Other than that, fantastic. Very enjoyable read.
Thumbs up.
He’s showing the nothingness that surrounds the words the middle finger. Things are never what they seem! Go get yourself published! Right now!
