I was watching a doco last night and it explained (in a no-doubt rudimentary way) the standard model and the Higgs particle theory. I was thinking, maybe there’s just one Higgs particle at the centre of the universe that came into existence the moment before the big bang? I don’t know enough to know if my theory is ridiculous. Any astro-physicists here?
The higgs field must be present everywhere interacting with the other particles to give them mass. Its like a fluid that “slows” particles down by giving them mass.
