It’s not normally my habit
to be a man driven
by superstition
But…
Last night
there was a meteor shower
and
—while walking—
I saw one
and silently uttered
the following wish—
If I were to be granted
the honor and privilege
of authoring the next amendment
to the United States Constitution
it would read as follows:
Any citizen of the United States
who desires to be elected
to the office of President
who meets the minimum criteria
previously mentioned in this document
may come from any state
except Texas
