apart from any political feelings you may have about this type of work (ie, whether you agree with the message or not) I’m interested to know what people around here think about overtly political art.
Does the message change our ability to view these pieces as genuine personal expression? Are they propaganda? Are they even relevant to society, and to art?
Yeah, most political art is just how the artist feels, but when blared all over town by a politically interested group to raise emotion etc, then it is propogandha.
But 90% of politics is propagandha anyway.
Where do you draw the line, between art and propagandha?
