I´m doing a work on perfectionism in my university, and i need you to answer a few easy questions about that,we´re doing this survey and then we´ll analysize the results, it´s very interesting…come on! it´s only 5 minutes…thank you…!!
Gender: Age: Nationality: Profession:
1-Your definition of perfectionism:
2-Is perfectionism a desirable character trait (yes/no and why?)
3-Are you a perfectionist? If not, would you like to be one and why?
4-Enumarate three characteristics that are peculiar to your country! To which extent did that influence the development of your character?
5-Do you feel guilty if you don’t accomplish a task thoroughly?
6-Do you prefer to work by yourself or with the help of others? Do you feel uneasy asking others for help? Why?
7-Do you plan everything in meticulous detail (by making lists for example)? Is it important for you to follow the plan? How do you feel if you don’t realise your plans?
8-Do you believe in yourself?
9-Is it important to you what others think of you? Do you feel uneasy while presenting your own ideas and beliefs because you’re afraid of being rejected?
10-Is it hard for you to make a decision because you’re afraid of making the wrong decision (especially if you have a lot of choices)?
11-How important is punctuality for you?

Male, 18, American, Student (going into acupuncture)
The psychological need to do things to the absolute best of your ability, or in many cases, to a higher standard than you are capable of acheiving.
No, because it leads people to believe in many cases that they are unworthy.
No.
Vanity, Extreme arrogance, and The Death of Common Sense. These things steered me to believe that we need a few radical changes in our society before we even attempt to work with other cultures to obtain a state of world peace.
Occasionally. Only if it was something I really wanted to get done.
I prefer to work by myself unless I’m working with someone I know well. I don’t like asking for help but only because it feels like a challenge to me if I can’t get it.
I only plan in meticulous details when I am on a severe time constraint, and then, it is important to follow the plan.
VIII) It all depends on what I’m doing. I’m very aware of my limitations. I can’t decorate a room, for example, but I can climb a building. I know what I can and can’t do and I believe in that.
Of course I care what people think of me. Everyone cares what everyone else thinks of them to some extent, and those who claim not to are lying to themselves. They care about giving off the image of not caring. It’s like the high school nonconformists. But I’m usually not uneasy saying what I need to say.
I’m usually not bothered by big decisions, I simply weigh the options and make the best decision I can. Time is a factor in every decision and one must be sure to decide by the deadline.
Maybe a 6 on a scale to 10. I wish it were more so.
I’m a pack rat. Don’t know why. I don’t have any really “defined” collections but I collect things in the sense of picking something up and going “Hey, that’s cool” and leaving it in my room with all the other useless crap.
