teenaged drivers...

should they be allowed to drive with other teenagers? I don’t know how it is else where but I Colorado teens under 18 with driver’s liceases can’t have anyone under the age of 21 until they’ve had their liceanse for 6 months than you can have one passenger under 21. Once you’ve had it for a year you can have more. So what do you think? As a teen driver myself I don’t really care 'cause most my friends are over 21.

I think Colorado has this rather usual legislation, is due to their statistics indicating that teen drivers with friends have a high rate of accident. Either way, it will definitely reduce car accidents, but by how much, is very questionable. Now the problem becomes, do you prefer to drive enjoying company of friends but to see one person die per year as a conscequence of this, or do you prefer that nobody dies as a conscequence of this but obviously you have to drive alone. This is what it boils all up to eventually, I think, civil legislations are often delimmatical between a large quantity of less quality and a small quantity of intense quality. Should Angels be applied here, then value must be assigned to unit quanity, in order to calculate the best choice. But to most people, when it involves life, nothing is measurable anymore, otherwise a certain fundamental ethic principle would be breached.

Oh please. Do NOT make it any harder than it already is. Michigan has a wickedly-complex Graduated Driver’s Licensing program. All it really does is make the state more money.

I got my license about a year & a half ago. I have a perfect record, and I even work as a test driver at a Porsche/Audi/Landrover dealership (In fact, I’m trusted so much that I’m the only porter who has access to the keys of all the expensive cars).

What would prevent more accidents is a change of attitude in these teens; not more driver’s education. Unfortunately, the parents (not the state) are the ones who are resposible for the shaping of their teen’s attitude.

Michigan actually is a little less strict on the rules for those with a Level 3# license. Once you have it, you are given full privlages.

I’m only 17, and I accredit my good self-disciplines to the way in which my parents have raised me. I feel that this has had an enourmously positive affect on many apects of my life.

Yeah, what was great about learning to drive was that I had my parent to teach me.
