The koran has no context, are you actually serious about that?
Seriously do some research into Islam the countries in question and the foundation of it, where it came from, why Muhammed did what he did, how he took a disparate group of middle Eastern Tribes and unified them and what he said about it. You really are digging a big hole for yourself by saying such inane things.
Until you learn about this subject there is really no talking to you at all, it’s a waste of time. Ignorant conjecture is no substitute for informed reason.
I know exactly what Muhammad did. Slaughter a whole tribe of Jews, for example. Well, the men anyway. The women and children he turned into slaves. Let’s also not forget that his favourite wife, Aisha, was 6 when he married her, which explains Islam’s acceptance of paedophilia to this day.
Yes, I am indeed serious that the verses of the Koran have no internal context. Its verses and subject matter are scattered at random.
I don’t think you can reason with Maia Kris, it’s why the world is such a messed up place, people get inured to their own ideas so much that reason is beyond them.
Maia you live your life hating people because of ignorance, but please don’t post any more hate fueled diatribes because you are not prepared to learn about a subject a culture its history and it’s prose, it’s not worth peoples time to explain why bigotry and intolerance are a bad thing to someone who seems so unwilling to listen to learn or to care to put anything into any sort of rational context.
I give up, the only thing I can hope is that you don’t let your hatred for others affect others. There are none so blind as those who will not see.
James if you’re talking about physics you are hardly the man to condemn someone for not learning a subject you once took an engineering degree and are now the biggest authority in physics in the world, who feels qualified to wax lyrical on a subject he knows nothing at all about, hasn’t studied and never will. Hypocrisy James is not a big or clever way to chastise anyone.
No not all Christian vows are that way now. Obey was left out in ours and he must honor and respect me as I him. Christian vows are not so strict anymore unless you are part of a strict sect, Quaker, Amish, any orthodox sect.
See this is my problem with post-reformation christianity in the western world.
No one actually follows christianity. They just make up a new way they like to do things, and they just do it. Then they claim to be xtians, even though they’ve completely ignored half of what they’re supposed to do and believe.
It’s all messed up man.
Like some straight up heresy and all that.
Hey I don’t like these parts of what I’m supposed to follow, I’ll just follow these other parts that match up with what I’m already doing.

“The point is: have you ever noticed how we crush a cockroach without further worry and feel no remorse in spite of being in fact terminating a life? That’s it. We do so because we don’t identify ourselves with a cockroach. Because it’s very diffent from us. […] Thinking from that side, I suppose some people tend to do the same towards others. I mean, they see from distance those they don’t identify with on the spot, do you get me? It’s as if the stranger, who doesn’t belong to the same group as we do, was seen as an inferior being… Almost a cockroach!”

I wonder just how long it took you to hunt up something about Muslims?
Do you see how biased that is? You are not capable of seeing more of a picture than what you want to see. Your beliefs/views on Muslims are just as unwarranted and inane as your beliefs on magic and witchcraft.
And I do not think that you begin to comprehend how you even, in a large sense, come to identify and group yourself among those INDIVIDUALS who are as biased as you are. You become, no more nor less, just like those INDIVIDUALS who actually do warrant your observation and judgment. But going around and condemning the whole for the few is not only unintelligent and lacking vision, but what you do is re-create, drop by hateful drop, a new Nazi regime. Is THAT what you are going for?
We are all INDIVIDUALS - there are any number of INDIVIDUALS from any race, culture or religion ad continuum who are capable sadly of doing those same despicable things which were related in that hyperlink.
KARMA:
Maia walks down the street and is accosted by a group of individual men who belong to a culture/religion which she believes in and holds dear. She’s always known that they can do no wrong.
Sadly, there is is no one there to help her. Suddenly, who walks down the street but a Muslim man who instantly sees what is happening and without a thought to himself, because he both values human life and women, puts his life and welfare in jeopardy to help and save Maia.
What does Maia do - give in to her bias and hate and let herself die because of it or does she allow this INDIVIDUAL to save her life?
My contrary friend has it not occurred to you that it is an evolution. A natural occurance and not wrong?
The reason homosexual behaviors were originally condemned was because the order to go populate was a prime directive. Well, we kind of did that in spades. So does the ban hold still? It should not. So many things have changed since the text was written, religion should bend.
We have actually also found out that homosexuality seems to have a rigour in promoting more births in a way we may not of thought of, both in the animal kingdom and in the higher order animal called humans. It does seem that the genes that promote homosexuality should promote a lessening of births in children, hence by the logic of evolution such genes should die out. But there are studies that have shown that genes expressed in men, when they expressed in women, make them more attracted to men than they normally would be so their family tree my compensate by having females in it who give birth to more children than would otherwise.
Nature finds a way it seems, even traits that seem detrimental to birth numbers can actually by sheer accident of evolution promote higher birth numbers. It’s far more complex than that though, it has been shown clearly in families that have high numbers of boys, that the more siblings that are born that are male increases the chance that there will be more gay males born to that family, regardless of whether they grow up within that family. Now this may seem to again be contraindicative to birth strategies, but what it may do is make populations slowly move towards higher rates of birth by reducing competition amongst the males in the social groupings.
It seems that evolution works, regardless of societal bigotry. Being gay does not actually prove a detriment to birth numbers it actually increases them. Of course early Christian societies would not of known this. Now of course they are not allowed to know this, as their dogma despite it’s lacking any veracity or logical reason is written in stone.
I can of course provide links to these studies if necessary, and will. Frankly though since homosexuality exists across almost all animal species, even very primitive one’s it’s not hard to understand why it promotes genetic fitness. Of course it differs amongst species. For example in rats homosexuality and cannibalism increases as food resources become more scarce. In fruit flies it seems to increase likewise, but there are a myriad of reasons why it exists and all of them are beneficial to birth numbers, we just have to know how to understand them. using religion to understand the complex interplay of genetic fitness though is unlikely to provide any answers, it is after all thousands of years out of date.
Well I can’t argue with that because it follows my studies on it. A lot more indepth but, yea. The human will compensate for it ethically and morally. If there is a god it already knows this.
It was an argument it was meant to support you. It just seems that science is on your side too, you should feel a little more comfortable about your argument not less.
