Summed up:
So what do you think of the american perspective… especially concerning its position in relation to other world powers?

Yep…
…America
You are a diamond in the rough.
All Americans are stupid… but you are smart because you figured everything out. You are like an American, but better. You recognize the folly of American life and appreciate a more intellectual European or Canadian lifestyle.
Oh wait… Did you want me to say that out loud?.. Or just think it?.. Either way, your intellect has been acknowledged.
Danke
Willkommen.
Whatever makes you feel better… You needed a pick-me-up.
Slipping…for now.
It’s ironic, cause the american perspective is purely american. They are proud not to know anything about anything non-American. So in that sense it’s kind of ironic they are the spear-point for globalization. It’s like having a track car in a race filled with a family that has never been to the race track.
You understand how all Americans perceive America do you?
Yep. I have interviewed every single one. That’s what I meant by that. That what I said applies to everyone without exception. Yes.
And I mean, you’re comment is valid, because you’re right: obviously I was wrong: the majority of Americans do know a considerable amount compared to the rest of the world. Your education isn’t a laughing stock, and on every testable example, Americans have been perceived as intelligent, global people.
Yep. That’s what happens. You definitely got me there. I had to totally pull a 180. Damn. I guess cause it’s all in my head…
So that lighthouse diverted its course in the end, right?
Does an explosion count as a diversion of course?
Sarcasm isn’t really an improvement over generalizations.
People generalize things every day; in fact, life is literally a general approximation where, at any given (waking) time you take in less than 1% of the known physical world’s information.
Without generalizations sanity and life as we know it would not be possible.
As for sarcasm, some linguists have argued that it’s one of the most sophisticated forms of written communication. I challenge you to prove that wrong.
Theres a differance between genuine ignorance and deliberately derogatory opinions.
Yep. No one said there isn’t a difference between those two things. All I said is Americans are proud not to know non-American things—which they are. That is obvious to the entire world.
The world and it’s history fascinate me.
What is American? Our culture is a mish mash of world cultures. A SouthAmerican will own a Chinese restaraunt that has a Canadian chef. The waiters and watresses all come from Europe and Africa. So really what is American? Our culture is all and yet its own , trying to define American culture as one thing is futile. Consider also that our countries regions all have different attitudes language idioms and cultures. We have cultures with in cultures within cultures. I have always wanted to put someone from Maine in a room with a Creole Cajun, then throw a Southern Californian in there… Oh yea, we are American… what is it that we are?
i’m guessing the light house moved
Generally when one uses a word such as “american” they mean to describe the collective average.
Or rather the best fit line to the collective average…as there are variances even within the cluster of more easily considered average…
