I think I managed to extract enough meaning from you first collection of phrases to say I don’t share your view. I think our historical record is evidence enough to show that the “possibility” of God has been relevant “to our existence” now and “always has been”. I think we are finding that as we dismiss the possibility we are becoming philosophical monsters for whom, given the technology, survival of the fittest is taking on new meaning.

the relevance of god(s) has been relevant " to our existence " . and it has been throughout history, as a very destructive " possibilty ". more wars and loss of Human life is directly connected to the " possibility " of god(s) than any other single motivational force, for war.

I am just guessing but I think your second collection of phrases sounds close enough to “to preserve our very existence” we must reach out to the limits of our capacities, to others and to God that I can agree with you but it really was a stretch.

A while back I wrote a poem I called SOLDIER’S LAMENT in which I tried to express a dead soldier’s critical view of life. I thought you might be trying to convey the same sentiment in your last collection of phrases but I wasn’t sure.

To decipher the three remaining collections of words whether taken separately or together has been a real struggle and thankfully your most recent post revealed the reason, so I can give up. You and justcurious truly “are in class of Humanity that there are few members”. Your understanding of life is so superior to my own I wonder again why you are wasting your time commenting in this thread. For the second time I urge you to set up your own thread. The first time I suggested you start by explaining “Human spirit”

I commented on your thread because I’m tired of hearing that god is the answer to this " spiritual void ". god(s) divide Humanity into this or that group. one group , which believes in this god, thinks they are better or closer to god , than that group. and it gets even worse because there fractures with a certain group , who think they are closer to god because of how they interpret , this gods readings , compared with the rest in that particular god fearing group.

" Human Spirit " on the other hand makes no distiction from where in the world your from , your colour , race , creed , education or financial postion , we are ALL welcome. there is NO discrimination. because we are all in the end important to Humanities very survival in this Universe.

and “Ever Naturally”. To these I add “belief in ourselves” and “belief in the Human race”.

what I mean by " Ever Naturally " . is that for me it is UN-Natural for any being to believe in something , in this case god(s) , above their own being. and to the point of taking a life. we only do so because we look at ourselves as inferior , in comparison to a god(s). we should not be doing this. we can grow, mature into a better being , Human Being , if we THINK in terms of a more positive attitude towards our selves as Humans.

I listened to an interview with a man whose son was killed by the Atlanta tornado. He said, “My son is in someplace better”. Perhaps that was the same place justcurious was talking about. Whatever, I look forward to seeing your thread lead the “class of Humanity” the rest of us are in, out of the darkness.

but and I don’t speak for Justcurious , I think he/she was referring , a whole different attitude, by Humanity , we work together for a common goal , not only for our very survival , but a world were we , Humanity , live , work together for our Future. in peace , and the exploration of space for example.

I think it would make things clearer if we refer to “God” as the greater good. I can identify with both sides of the argument. I do believe that eric is right in his belief that the idea of god has propelled us into situations where previously we may have feared to have tread if we didnt have the idea of an all knowing being looking out for us. People have developed the world as it stands today, the written word, charity etc through following religion/gods will. I also believe that we have strayed too far in our belief and relied to heavily on there being a God that will save us. In essence we have rested on our laurels and the belief that god will save us has become an excuse for us not to take our futures in our own hands. (This I blame on religion and the people who have over the years constructed religions to benefit themselves and not the people as a whole.) Through fear of faliure and the belief that devine intervention shall save us we have become stagnant and unable to create a life that will benefit all, this has lead to a number of people being able to benefit from the situation and to propell themselves forward, leaving the rest to fall behind and suffer. Our lives as individuals and the lives of all in the human race i believe are ours to improve, and we have only ourselves to answer to. On whole it is solely in our own hands wether we suceed or fail.
