…that non-participation is an option.
That’s not true. You might not vote, but given that you influence others, you influence their votes; given that you are a participant in the economy, you support companies who most likely support candidates. You can choose not to realize or understand the level of your participation, but the nature of democracy is such that you can’t avoid participating.
“Democracy is nothing more than mob rule where 51 percent of the people take away the rights of the other 49.”
[Thomas Jefferson]
The hope that some day prostitution will be legal.
I see what you’re saying, and you’re probably right, but I’m talking about active involvement. I’m saying that a man can forget about politics and get away with it.
Nice quote, tunis.
LOL. Who knows, maybe legalising it would make it worse (paperwork, possible price rises, etc.)
It’s legal and parts on Nevada, and the crack whore on the corner is much less expensive, and probably better.

Things sold on the blackmarket are naturally overpriced, and more unsafe, etc. There is no health-inspectors, no waranty, no safety instructions, no nothing.
Prostitudes getting physically abused is not a rare thing.
In the porn industry, “porn-stars” have regularily schedualed HIV tests, and whatnot, to help prevent HIV issues.
Part of “personal freedoms” AKA: “human rights”, is that people get to personally choose what they do to their bodies, and what they are exposed to. In the same way that some people are willing to charge money for a massage, also, some people would be willing to charge a price for massaging something other than a person’s muscles. And then, there are people who would be willing to pay/buy, and people who were not willing. It is still concentual, in that each person chooses.
