The Blockhead

A true homage to Nietzsche…

After Socrates drank his fill, he is still remembered for 2 millenia in dusty tomes. Ayn Rand is dead; but given the nature of man, she will be remembered for millenia to come. And we, we have to make her naught more than dust too!

Have you not heard of that mad woman who ran into the library, with one folder under her arm, at the hour of its opening, and shouting incessantly: “I am looking for Rand! I am looking for Rand!”
And those philosophers stood there togather, she excited laughter. Have you lost her, then? asked one. Did she lose her way like a child? asked another. Or is she hiding? Or is she afraid of us? Has she gone on a voyage? emigratted again? They laughed until the madwoman leaped and pierced them with her sharp glances.

“Where has she gone?” She cried. “I shall tell you. We have killed her - you and I. We are her murderers. How have we done it? Through THE Critique of Pure Reason. Ayn Rand is dead. Ayn Rand remains dead. And we have killed her. There has never been a greater deed; and posterity shall thank us - for the sake of this deed shall make her part of vulgar history, more vulgar than all history hitherto.”

The madwoman grew silent and studied her audience; they stared back in astonishment. She threw her folder down, spreading an ocean of papers onto the floor, and went out. “I have come too early,” said she, "my time has not come yet. Things take time to be recognized. Lightning and thunder takes time, showers take time, the stars’ light takes time, and deeds require time before they are recognized by their aftershock. This deed is more distant than the farthest stars – and they did it themselves."

On the same day, the madwoman wrote a short obituary. Led out and called into accound, she had nothing to say but “What of logic now if it is not more than the tomb and sepulcher of Rand?”

Very entertaining story. Bravo! I think you dont have any responses is because you need a catchier title or is it just that you dont leave anyone to answer back too.

All i have to say is bravo hope to hear more of these storys.(keep up the good work)
