Has anyone actually posted there or is it just a running joke to get on my nerves? Why is it always at the top of the list? The real question is, are you gay if you post on that thread? Probably. Gay or religious. Because no one else cares. This is not a yes or no question anyway. People who are intolerant of gays are jerks. But were jerks born jerks? If so, do we refrain from criticizing them and establish jerk rights?
I have another question. Some of my friends are tit men. Some are ass men. My question is, are you born a tit or ass man? Some people think that you like tits more if you were breast fed. But then why do some people like asses more? Were they ass fed? God I hope not. Some people post on the “born gay” thread, some don’t. Were the people that don’t post on it born that way? Are people born liking strawberry more than chocolate? Sure seems that way in my family. Gayness is a disease. So is straightness. Bi-sexuality and asexuality are forms of genius. Nobody is born white. Skin color is nurture. Hat color is genetic. Glove color is a combination of nature and nurture. Scarf color is nature, nurture and ligature.
I was always told jerks were afraid of octagons, squares and dodecahedrons. Blowhards are commonly afraid of circles and spheres. Meanies are not afraid of shapes, but they are afraid of the colors white, black and green. If the meanie is named Doug, Ted or Colin, he’s afraid of hostess fruit pies and the letter Q.
The reason that it’s important to me is that it is no longer politically correct to discuss factors that make people gay, other than those that may be genetic. Meanwhile, about a hundred years of history and my own personal experience with clients tells me that many gay people have been conditioned toward it. That spells for quite a weird life.
Meanwhile, I think that people keep posting the question because the PC song and dance does not ring true to the average person’s common sense about human choice and behavior.
That brings up moral and religious issues, as the religious tend not to believe in conditioning as an excuse for behavior.
On the whole, it’s a puzzling aspect of human behavior, if you are into that sort of thing.

nature or nurture, its all natural, people are the way they are. so the religious should get off their high horses, the homophobes, get over their fears… and everyone should

I am of course a card carrying gay-basher, and I spit on the shoes of people like Bill Clinton who say that the world needs more people like Elton John. If the world needs more people who spend more on flowers every year than they give to charity, more camp little twerps with mediocre talents and a penchant for knowing which particular high-profile good causes to lend your name to then we’re all fucked and going straight to the cleaners…
On the plus side at least he’s got his civil partnership now so he can stop humping that bandwagon…
Elton John is, of course, in many real senses, the cliche of homosexuality and as such is misleading.
He is not the essence of homosexuality.

Your problem Someoneisathtedoor - is not so much Eltons outrageous and frivolous spending, but rather, his fame. A majority of famous people spend lavish amounts of cash on trivial luxuries. Not all homosexuals do.

My problems with Elton John have very little, if anything, to do with his being gay. He can be as gay as he likes, he just can’t portray himself as charitable when he is a superficial, sad little wanker who is constantly spitting out his dummy…
i love it when SIATD gets really passionate on something, always impressive. i admire his ability to, even while pissed, perfectly interlace his statements with a variaty of vocab, which turns what would have otherwise been a series of profane, irrelevant statements, into a rather inpressive, almost intelligent rambling. well done.
