Jack decided that rather than constantly having to open and close his front door for his cat, he’d install a cat flap. He bought one and put it in the door, but he hadn’t measured his cat, and the flap was too small.
That winter night, he locked the door and went to bed, “knowing” that his cat would be able to get in. It couldn’t. Instead, it curled up on the block paving and froze to death.
Aye. If only Jack had made the measurements… Incidentally, he had ten tins of “Whiskers” left over, which he threw away, so it wasn’t only the cat’s life that was lost. If anything, the tin tragedy was greater than the feline one!
