The official name of 2003 UB313 has been declared as Eris, after the Greek Goddess of strife and discord. The dwarf planet had been popularly named Xena, and its moon; previously named Gabrielle, has been now officially named Dysnomia, after the daughter of Eris who was a demon of lawlessness.
Befitting names for what was once referred as Planet X, existing outside of the solar system in the Scattered Disk, just beyond the Kuiper Belt as a SDO.
The dwarf planet and moon are saturated with methane, suggesting that living there would probably be really bad… full of strife… and discord… and lawlessness.
