The God Effect

It seems to me that everyone has something that rules their life or directs their actions. Things such as religion, work, money, socializing, family, sex, etc. have such control over not only individuals, but also over society. What do you guys think? Is there such a thing as the god effect? If you think so, is it bad, good, or can it be either?

I’ve always felt that belief in god is a resignation to tyranny.

But sure, who really is not controlled by anything in the world? Nobody has that liberty.

What is this freedom you speak of, some sort of lazy man’s oblivion where there is no environment?

God or god, however you view him, is the human interpretation of a being (human or alien) who humans believe created the world and the universe. :-k Thats pretty damn obvious so I’ll expand. There is a God/Allah/Creator. His name is irrevalant because humans will never be able to understand it. I call God it because I believe it is neither man nor woman but is something which is incomparable to humans and cannot he defined by us. But ironically i justbdefined it. #-o

There is something that rules over every human. Stollebr what is the god effect you give a good example but leave me hanging. More importantly, how do you define it

I’m not sure they will ever reply to be honest.

Anyway, I am pretty sure they meant that the God effect has power over the way we make decisions. It can be unanimously decided it seems that everybody has something controlling their life, ‘stollebr’ wants to know whether it is a goos or bad thing to have God as the predominant influence. I obviously think it is bad (or less preferable), having described it as tyranny(!).

Thank you. That clears it up a lot.

People also behave like that under other religions, thus God has nothign to do with it.

It has to do with our instincts and social norms.

a hamster running in a wheel is still going somewhere, son.

My thoughts exactly…
