the golden rule

lets take a look at that rule…if I am loving to myself will that love come back in some way…
please help me out with this…if I am loving to others will that love come back…
are these golden rule people right about this…

merry christmas to you all…

You know, Turtle… I really don’t know, but what I do know… is not to let others turn you into something you’re not or don’t want to be, so perhaps best to operate under that premise.

NO! Only a fool would think otherwise!..There’s times where it can apply to an extent or on an individual level if you’re good at reading people, or specific people like your Mother and Father, but you have to be pretty stupid to roam the earth with that way of thinking generally! It’s a nice thought, isn’t it? In a perfect world…

A slightly better rule is “do unto others and yourself as you’d do unto yourself if you were them”

Do as you will so long as it causes no harm.—Wiccan commandment

“Virtue is its own reward.”

“Wickedness is it’s own reward” Who do you think is happier in life, the virtuous person or a psychopath? We need to really examine these concepts if we wish to make the world better, and not just rely upon thoughtless platitudes.

The virtuous person is more happy.

BTW, only a small fraction of the population is psychopathic.

That’s not what the data shows… BTW you honestly look at this world and think only a small percentage are psychopaths… man-o-man, you have it soooooooo backwards.

Nothing I write will change what you believe. I understand and accept it. :-"

He was raised in Oregon and CA. What else could he possibly think.

[thoughtless platitudes]----unbelievable statement…maybe the thoughtless part is the inability to understand the wisdom of the ages…

What’s wrong with Oregon? I’ve lived in Oregon.

In Lak’Ech.

turtle, I can unequivocally state that you’ve had a very easy life spiritually and mundanely, and you’ve met very easy people in that life as well. Nobody who’s been through some serious stuff in life would think that was a thoughtful platitude, and they’d understand exactly what I meant by “wickedness is it’s own reward” as a retort to your thoughtless platitude.

He winked, and in this case it’s a sign of private knowledge, can you guess where James lives?

ec you just don’t understand the importance of the golden rule for a person in certain situations…of course it doesn’t work when someone is coming at you…you sound very arrogant about this…

don’t be hateful to others…exactly what problem due you have with that…
if you go after someone they will just come back at you…most of the time
no rule is perfect or works all the time…
