during this period in history, people were transformed into animals.
this period in history was the greatest and most horrific science experiment ever done on human beings…on humanity as a whole.
put them in camps, make them fight for their lives, take their dignity their pride and make them lose their faith, see what they do then.
what people become is what they really are, beneath the shroud of spirituality and values and personality and intelligence we are instinctive creatures just like any other animal. we are placed in society.
but what happens if we were placed in the ‘wild’?
what if in the future an alien race enslaved the entire planet. used us only for
science expirements, labour, and systematicly executed our entire species. if you seen or heard of thousands of your fellow humans being killed
and enslaved(the most horrific thing you can take from someone is freedom)
what would you do? rebel? would you rather be enslaved or die fighting?
i personally blame religion for our “Humanity Imaturity” on religion.
for my way of thinking it brought us out the primative state of mind(savage)before we were actually evolved enough to come that on our own, without some god concept.
we needed more time to work our need for war and savagery.
Mass slaughter has taken place for all sorts of spurious reasons, there’s no particular point to be made by singling out the Holocaust. I don’t mean to trivialise it but it is merely one major event in a history of horrific violence…

tell me when else did ‘mass slaughter’ take place, in modern times (the 1900s), to the equivalent of the Holocaust?
the fact that a ‘civilized’ and developed country would revert to such barbaric ways…fueled by a ubermensche philosophy…
there is no other place on earth…in history…that is equivalent to the death camps, that is where the greatest and most horrific experiment on mankind took place…that is where we found out what the average man you find in society today is made of…and when it comes down to it, nobody is a hero, everybody is scared, everybody wants to live…
and even when these men and women were placed in the most horrible situations, where they were starving and hating their lives…they still went on, they didnt even try to kill themselves, because they had become completely instinctive animals…
that process, from what we call ‘human’ to what we call ‘animal’, i find that amazing.
ever hear of the american continents? at least 30 million slaughtered in the name of manifest destiny. 4 or 5 times more people butchered than hitler ever dreamed. your view of history is too limited.
a scarey thought… iranian president comparing the holocaust to the palestinian/isrealie conflict. any ‘world leader’ that casts doubt on the holocaust is a frightening man. he’s obviously got a twisted sense of reality/history.

stalin did not send away those he susupected of disloyalty on trains to labor camps where they would have their dignity taken, their possessions robbed.
then starved to death while simultaneusly being worked to death and all the while not being able to do anything.
because they are trapped in a death camp inside of their own country, and all of a sudden, for reasons they do not understand they are being betrayed and hated and there is no hope for their future…

No…Stalin killed most of the 25 million (actually the number is in dispute; between 4 and 50 million) by taking there food away and harrassing them with propoganda and secret police; others were assassinated; and others were sent off to work/death camps.
Furthermore, there have certainly been atrocities similar to the Holocaust in our century (even our decade): the events in Turkey (2 million deaths), Rwanda (937,000 deaths), Sudan (2 million), Bosnia (8,000), Cambodia (1.7 million), Iraq (7,000), and Bangdalesh (1.5 million) were all genocides. While the Holocaust was certainly larger than these, you have little cause to say it was driven by a deeper hatred or evil: the Holocaust was bigger because it occurred in the midst of World War II.
In line with what another has said, where are we now if not in the wild? I imagine that after enough millenia in this wild, we’d be somewhere close to where we are now.
