Affirmative action claims to support the notion of racial and cultural equality yet in many circumstances it is exclusive to others which is ironic of the supposed equality that it dictates.
Which affirmative action are you talking about?
The open one that is fairly recent in US history or the older more tacit one or the open govenment and private one in force preWW2 pretty much in every state and many places long after that?
Dude I said that temporary injustice in order to make a group whole who has suffered injustice at the hands of those suffering the temporary injustice is how we reach an equilibrium. That’s how you make things fair. You take what was stolen and give it back. How is that not a substantive response?
Well, when one group puts themselves on a pedestal and steals everything, then another group comes along and puts themselves on a pedestal and steals it back what’s the difference?
I’ll bet if you were getting a job because you were white your opinion would be different instead of not getting it because you’re white.
Don’t be so selfish and insincere. You can’t really want justice and then say it’s wrong to make someone whole who’s been wronged.
The thing about ideas like equilibrium in society, or moral codes or what have you, is that we all know they are unattainable or unaccomplishable, but what we should do it try and strive toward them, that’s what keeps the problem from getting worse. You might not ever be a millionaire, but if you don’t try and get money, you’ll suffer.
