Actually, I have no problem with you or your posts, per se. No doubt you feel intimidated by the awe inspiring amount of name dropping that occurs in posts masquerading as Philosophy at this site. Note this, name dropping is not ideation, it is not philosophy.

Gate Control Theory. I like your list because of the holier than thou whining disguised as insightful cynical humorist critique. This site is an experiment on how a philosophy forum might work. The results don’t resemble a college classroom. If they did, no one would ever pay to go to college. What the results DO reveal is something about people. If most people spend their time here being social, playing games, etc., that’s a result, a reality. Not a failure. It can tell you something about how the philosophies and social behaviors interrelate. Many days I feel like Diane Fossey. The philosophy of humor, connection, honor, irony, love, war. It’s all here in these hallowed halls. Some of it I hate, too, just like I might hate a winter chill. I don’t judge it as inferior to the “higher” enterprise of talking philosophy. If you stayed out of mundane babble and stuck with the philosophy section itself, you wouldn’t be so compelled to whine. And as far as Gamer, it’s strange how you fail to see that he was Dunamis’ nemesis, not his groupie. The eleventh hour ass-kissing was an honorable attempt to make amends and say goodbye, to talk him down from the 7000th story window he was getting ready to plunge off of. The idea of Gamer having stars in his eyes for anyone aside from himself is perhaps the largest compliment and the largest insult you could possibly grant him.
Here is a short list, which is biased only to the circles I travel in. Ironically some of the best interplay and posts I’ve had aimed at me or near me were by people not on this list. The amount of people with wit, intelligence and good will here is staggering. But they have hard names, like Km2, so they don’t get mentioned here. Some might be a regular guy like Jerry who penned a shockingly beautiful poem. Some might be a lot of everything, but not have a “most,” like SIATD. So these labels are completely incomplete. I’m still a firm believer in the site. Maybe when I have 1300 posts I’ll feel differently.

You hide from your shortcomings behind a cloud of smoke. But really, that’s how they best hide from you. Right now you’d make a really good 15th man on the basketball team of wisdom and art here at ILP, and I think you can and will do better. I think you could be doing better right now.
