Free energy, if applied, means we no longer must need food.
But technology is also required to get there.
Free energy implies a system that does not need death or consumption.
No more meat. Or even plant flesh.
And competition, the basis of evolution, would no longer be necessary either.
The only thing would be to fight over the machines
that freely fuel their makers.
I think all of this human strife is temporary.
Eventually technology will replace the old systems and the old ways.
Enjoy your capital cannibalism while it lasts, mutants.
Work = Force x Distance
Power = Work / Time
Energy = Power x Time
It is easy to see from above that there is no such thing as free energy, because energy=((force x distance)/time) x time. In order to have a force there must be an opposing force. No opposing force means no energy. If there is an opposing force greater than zero then it requires energy to be greater than zero. Free energy would mean zero energy.
Here’s an example:
A 120 volt outlet has a potential of 120 volts. If nothing is plugged into the outlet then there is no work being done. No work means no energy.
Plug a 120 volt light bulb into the outlet that has a resistance of 240 ohms and the light bulb will draw a current of 120 / 240 = .5 amps. This is ohms law; volts divided by ohms = amps. The power is 120 volts x .5 amps = 60 Watts. The unit “Watt” is a unit of measure of POWER. So the power is 60 Watts, but that is still not energy yet, because the amount of time that power was consumed is not taken into account. Run the light bulb for 2 hours and do the math and you find that the ENERGY is 60 Watts x 2 Hours = 120 Watt-Hours of ENERGY.
As you can see from above, there can be no such thing as “free energy” because energy is simply a measure of power x time. Power is a measure of work / time, and work is a measure of force x distance. So it comes down to the fact that with an opposing force there is work being done over a time period, which is energy which is not free. With no opposing force there is no work being done and so no energy.
A star is free energy.
Not absolutely ofcourse.
But we don’t need absolute energy.
We just need a tiny speck of energy
to run our bodies, minds, souls, etc.
The future of the human species is that we all become balls of white light.
Sometimes you are wrong, but this time, you’re right.
The highest beings are beings made of consciousness and intelligence.
Some can reach a physical level of it.
It’s much more dynamic and powerful than regular energy.
A star is not energy. A star is a mass in space. If you can harvest power from a star over time, like from a solar panel, then you are creating a voltage and amperage over a time period, which is energy. Energy is a calculation of power and time. A star is not power and time it is simply a mass in space. No solar panel means no power which means no energy.
I’m using the standard language. It is YOU that is claiming a star is energy, which is false. I say again, energy is a CALCULATION of POWER and TIME. It is like calculating man-hours of work. 5 men working for 3 hours is 15 man-hours of WORK. 60 Watts for 3 hours is 180 Watt-Hours of ENERGY. It is not the star that is the energy it is the calculation of power and time that is the energy. That 180 Watt-hours could have been produced by a hydro-electric plant or it could have been from a solar panel, but one thing is for sure, the energy is simply 180 Watt-Hours, not “a star.”
I have communicated to you where your language is false. Basically what you are doing is claiming a hamburger is a hotdog. Then when I correct you and show you why a hamburger is not a hotdog you then go on to claim I should be able to see past our differences. Basically I am showing where your error is and you are claiming I should be able to live with your error.
Energy = Power x Time
Energy does not mean “Star.”
Just like Man-Hours does not mean flesh and bones.
We’ll see what the other posters have to say about all of this.
I see a straw man loop of some sort,
you claiming that your criticism is valid and mine isn’t.
It’s not an election that is decided by the amount of votes one gets. If everyone agrees with you then it means that you are ALL wrong. It is a fact that energy is a calculation and not a massive body in space. Your misunderstanding of what energy is leads you to make false statements. Energy is a calculation of power and time, it is not a physical entity.
I meant that your description may not be understandable, by those with a non-scientific understanding of reality… so, academic terminology v layman terminology.
Energy is a scientific term which has units such as Watt-Hours.
Would you claim a car is torque? That is similar to what Dan does when he claims a star is energy. Torque is a scientific term with units of lb-ft, just as energy is a scientific term with units of Watt-Hours. Sure, a car’s engine can produce torque just as a star can produce energy, but a car is not torque and a star is not energy. See?
So a car is torque. Got it. There are red torques, and blue torques, and rusty torques. Sometimes torque gets towed away, and you get a torque loan so that you can drive torque to the grocery store. Sometimes torque breaks down and you have to bring torque to a shop to repair torque.
