I don’t have a strong opinion on if transgender women should or shouldn’t be allowed in women’s toilets. Quite frankly, I think the solution is pretty simple: let women vote on it. Not politicians or lawyers, women should choose. And if they choose to ban trans women from their bathrooms, I’m for it. I’m genuinely 100% on board with women choosing this for themselves, in either direction.
With that said, there is one serious downside to all this malarkey, and that is that there are some women, some women born with vaginas who have two x chromosomes, who look a bit masculine and who can get caught in the crossfire.

This is a video of a woman, a normal biological woman with maybe some masculine facial features or a masculine hair cut (idk I haven’t seen her) who was harassed about going into the women’s changing rooms at a gym.
Incidents like this have to be factored in to any conversation about how to deal with bathroom policing. Because you can’t tell what genitals every person has just by looking at them.

Not sure why we need to play these zero sum games.
Women do not need to vote on it. Give these people a third separate bathroom and done.
Alternatively you can reform bathrooms to be unisex and completely separated from eachother on stall basis where everyone’s privacy is protected.
The approach where someone inevitably loses from the outcome is part of turning the entire problem into a sociological pathogen or culture war issue.
And i think that is the entire goal and point of “trans gender issues” to begin with.
Universally beneficial solutions are not being sought. Everyone is playing zero sum games and trying to pit one part of society against the other, as if the goal was not resolving the issue, but the conflict itself.
EDIT:
Also, you are correct. There are plenty of groups caught up in the crossfire. Tomboys and even homosexuals are being erased in favor of transgenderism because the transgender industry is pushing conclusions on everyone.
Children which would grow up to be homosexual are now given puberty blockers and often are reeled into surgeries because “if you like boys, doesnt that mean that you are actually feeling like a girl”
The entire thing is a cesspit. It follows no logic. It has zero rationality. It is either chasing profit or is by its design only there to sow and reap conflict.

Totally. Been saying that for a while. Who needs binary bathrooms anyway.

Everyone’s home bathroom and shower is gender neutral, same as any bathroom you have come across while camping.
The problem is aided by mixing ‘gender’ in all this. There’s sex and there are sexual preferences. Gender, whatever it its, doesn’t matter. It’s just a talking point as @Nausamedu pointed out

Your bathroom and toilet are open to the public then? How generous of you. Do you have a sign outside your house advertising this fact?

It’s not about ‘banning’ anyone. It’s about keeping women’s toilets and changing rooms for women. Men can do what they like otherwise. Weird that it worked perfectly well for all the decades and decades that there have been toilets and changing rooms for women (which women fought for by the way). It has only caused problems since the rise of ‘self ID’ being written into laws.
Women aren’t interested in looking at anyone’s genitals.
That (probably staged) video is a red herring. Women know other women when they see them. We’ve honed that skill over millions of years. It has nothing to do with the fight to keep women-only spaces. It’s a deliberate ploy to muddy the waters.
I think its more about how the entire family uses it.
Its considered to be unisex but a private room. You are not walking in on your mother or sister while they are in the shower… and… now sweet home alabama is playing inside my head… great…
Now, what criticisms would you raise to that same questions you wrote there, from the other point of view?
My bet is that my response would be quite obvious, wouldn’t it?
While capitalists financially rape the entire world the concept as a distraction that public bathrooms is a transsexual civil rights issue is laughable.
These liberals with their insane cultural and sexual wars distract away from economic class warfare. Modern liberals like their conservative counterparts never attack economic capitalism that is the real inequality of this world in terms of human suffering.
Women public bathrooms are only for biological females, period.

That’s a very convenient hand-wave away from you. We’re looking at a scenario where that’s literally not the case and you just get to deny it effortlessly. That doesn’t really contribute to the conversation meaningfully.
Women obviously don’t have a magical way of just telling, because if they did this sort of thing would never happen.

Yes, we do.It’s not ‘magic’. It’s evolution. You said at the start you don’t care so why make a thread about it? Perhaps let women take care of it?
I don’t care which way women vote. I still care if people make ridiculous nonsense arguments like the notion that every woman can always tell.
No they can’t. Many women have masculine features. Some women with pcos even have stubble. You can’t just bullshit your way around those facts, you have to genuinely grapple with them.
You come across someone dressed like a woman in the women’s toilets with masculine facial features and stubble, what do you do? Do you demand to see their pussy right then and there?
So, because some woman who supposedly doesn’t know a woman when she sees one ‘just happens’ to film an exchange with a woman she allegedly thinks is a man and then posts it on Tik Tok after the obviously female person has made it clear that she’s a woman, then by your logic it means that women should welcome men into their toilets and changing rooms? I don’t even know what point you are trying to make. What does it have to do with men in women’s spaces?
Why should women be forced to vote for something that they already have? It’s absurd. Perhaps we should vote for the right to vote in elections too. Or the right to get a mortgage Or the right to have a bank account without a husband’s permission.
Let me get this right. What you are suggesting is that because some women allegedly can’t tell the difference between a man and a woman (because of course all women have long hair therefore a woman with short hair must be a man) then men should be allowed into women’s spaces.
I’m sorry you can’t tell the difference between a man and a woman. That must make life a bit awkward for you.
You’ve gone hysterical. I haven’t said anything like that
Idk what you mean by “they already have”. The bulk of trans support comes from women. If it were up to men as a group, trans people would have already been banned from women’s toilets everywhere across the country, there wouldn’t even be a debate.
I mean ‘they already have’ women’s spaces. Why should women lose them just because there are a lot of women who would rather side with the worst kind of men than stand up for other women? That’s hardly new. The suffragettes didn’t have huge numbers either. A lot of women would rather die than be labelled a ‘feminist’. Why should women lose their hard won rights because of a passing fad?Social evolution is rarely driven by a mindless mob. The ones who call themselves ‘progressive’ are the exact opposite.
That wouldn’t be up to me. If I had my way, that would be up to women. Since women’s toilets exist for the benefit of women, I think it makes the most sense that women get the say. I don’t think I’m saying something absurd by suggesting that.
What exactly would they be voting ‘for’? Do you know what ‘self ID’ is? It would simply be a vote to end everything that is for women only. That’s not acceptable. Women shouldn’t have to vote to keep their own rights. If those women who want to pander to men and welcome them into women’s toilets and changing rooms then those women should use the men’s if they feel that strongly about it. Let men complain about their presence if they want to. They probably wouldn’t though.
Okay, so let’s just imagine that you get your way - what happens when a masculine faced woman with stubble is in the women’s toilets? That’s still the glaring problem that would remain. Do you call the police and ask them to look down this person’s pants to make sure? Even after this person has explained to you that she’s a woman who just had PCOS? How do you deal with that situation?
“I’ll just know she’s a woman” is obviously not a legitimate answer
