Don’t be mad, Cyrene - I’m sure you’ll live to experience things beyond your usual mundane existence and experiences!
I respect your expertise and look forward to reading your knowledgeable posts - just remember: things/beings have evolved from that which is measureable… Please give some of us a break on that premise: when we reiterate our experiences!
Theres nothing mudane about living on earth. just like if you went on a spaceship and landed on a new planet, you’d be amazed, excited and your breath would be taken away, a world of life in a universe otherwise filled with barren planets, a self-replicating molecule of some sort (presumably) evolving/diffrentiating to create all animal forms.
You wouldn’t be able to go a day without noticing the beauty, complexity, etc. Life is not mudane for the people who reject ghosts and spirits, we take enjoyment out of the beauty/complexity/strange-ness of nature.
I’m sorry, but you suggesting I have ‘mudane experiences’ is absurd, compare the cellular structure of the eye (and the study of that complex structure) to claims about ghosts…
which is really mudane?
Its mudane for people to make claims without evidence based on precieved intentionality, because almost everyone does it, and we’re evolveed to detect intentionality where non exists.
Actually it is the complete and lasting damage George Bush (hereafter known as the village idiot)
inflicted on both the United States and the world.
It will take decades, if at all possible, to reverse the damages the village idiot
has left on America and the world. From a massive debt which our great grandchildren will be paying off
to being the single greatest recruiting tool Islamic extremism has ever had to turning
an entire country into a unlivable hellhole, Iraq. Every thing pales in comparision to
having one of the worst leaders the world has seen and the only real comparisions left
to us about the village idiot is how he compares to such leaders as pol pot, hitler, castro,
mao and stalin in how he has damage the world during this decade.
No. you’re talking about things some crazy individuals think they saw/some noncrazy individuals think they saw, and assume that they are real. Is a unicorn real? theres no evidence for it, but during one point in history there were more unicorn sightings than we currently have, there were at one point enough unicorn sightings to seriously convince people of their reality.
Theres another fact for you, t hroughout human history theres records of massive sightings of guess what, culturally popular ideas of the supernatural at the time. Gremlins, little demons ,etc etc etc.
constantly changing with society as society embraced new plays/stories/horror-tales. funny how that works.
I have no idea what said individuals saw, Cyrene, I wasn’t there: for I only believe what I see/experience myself - I can but speculate at the validity of other’s sights and experiences, but it’s not my place to say that they did not experience what they are claiming they did…
I never said I saw any such things as ghosts, and I really don’t know if they even exist, but I have sensed the auras of others/other’s energies - it’s a very weird feeling indeed, and quite an upsetting/unsettling experience to have.
Tops on my list for profound
The internet for giving people around the world a chance to get to know each other inspite of what their Gov’ts tell them about people from other countries.
That instead of just warring with each other, countries rush to the aid of other countries when natural disasters hit. And they can do that with in a couple of days. It is a profound small step towards learning to cooperate instead of fear and hate.
That Russia and US put aside animosity to build and maintain a space station with other countries. Another small step
that new species of creatures are still being found and catalogued. Some newly developed, some long thought of as extinct and some that have been around just never seen.
That man is beginning to explore the depths of the oceans and finding unknowns
