The NIE report that proves .....

In April the village idiot, received the NIE
(NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE ESTIMATE) which
“represents a consensus view of the 16 separate
spy services inside the government” The NIE’S are the
“most authoritative documents the the intelligence
community produces… and are approved by
JOHN NEGROPONTE, the director of national intelligence”

The April NIE said this according to the NY TIMES,

"The American invasion and occupation of Iraq has helped
spawn a new generation of Islamic radicalism and that the
overall terrorist threat has GROWN since the SEPT. 11 attacks…
The report says “that the Iraq war has made the
overall terrorism problem worse,”
Said one American intelligence official.

On August 21, the village idiot held a press a conference
and told the American people the exact opposite.

As I have been saying for months. Official U.S. intelligence
say the terrorism problem is greater then 9/11
and the bush administration has failed america and that
failure will cost a lot of lives.

Kropotkin

oh damn!

bush is releasing the NIE report in its entirety to put the lie to your liberal propaganda.

piss and moan! call out the lawyers again, the gop is stealing the election again…

even after being released, it reads the same as what was leaked. which is that the threat of terrorism has increased due to the iraq invasion causing more anti-american sentiments.

i guess i can stop bitching about the terror alert being heightened constantly just as a fear tactic. i feel so much better now knowing that i actually AM in more danger … wait, oh … nevermind.

my bad, it doesn’t look like what i was reading was the full release … being that it still has not been released. wonder what is so secret about this thing anyway?

Aren’t the guys saying that the invasion made terrorism worse the same guys who said there were WMDs? I thought we couldn’t trust those guys? :unamused:

Its all about perspective. From W’s perspective America is safer because now the terrorists are killing Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan instead of New York.

He’s saving the terrorists so much trouble by shipping Americans to Iraq and Afghanistan to die and not even a thank you card. #-o

Hmm, do you know what propaganda is? Here’s a hint: its not automatically propaganda if it disagrees with what W has to say.

The report is based on fact, W’s comments are based on speculation. If one were to objectively examine W’s comments they would have no choice but to see them as more deserving of the title of propaganda than the report would be.

wrong. when the report came out, it vindicated bush and showed the lie being spread by the democRATS. too bad the liars on the left don’t control all of the media anymore…

instead of listening to reporting on reports that said the report reported that iraq was causing more terrorism, has anyone seen the actual document? i’ve been searching recently and have only been able to find reports on the report. i’d like to read it for myself instead of depending on a republican slanted media to get the facts, ya know? anyway, if anyone has a source for it, i’d appreciate it.

This is a link to the declassified document:

hey Imp, after reading this document that was just posted, how is it any different from the earlier reports on it? which is to say, the reports that stated terrorist action was increasing for various reasons, one being the instability in iraq and growing anti-americanism due to our involvement in the middle east. from the news reports i read, bush’s statements were always the opposite. so how does this report vindicate or back what bush has been saying?

the democRATS and the main stream press are spinning it their way

the news reports you read were biased

i think i’m starting to see the differences in the two sides here. after reading the two articles you just posted, i’m seeing that the concern is because they feel news agencies are saying that terrorists are just now coming into existance out of nowhere because of the war in iraq. even from Bush’s statement on sept 29th speaks to the same concern:

however, the news stories that i saw, that i read, and that i talked about others with were not to this extent. it was more to the point similarly made in the article you posted:
what you won’t read in the new york times
which is, like the germans and japanese armies growing with the U.S. involvement in WWII, terrorist groups have increased in numbers. fact is, there is a link. i don’t think what Kropotkin and others have stated is that the U.S. involvement is the only reason the terrorists are growing in numbers. but more to the fact that the U.S. has NOT reduced terrorism since 9/11. the document JrnymnX posted pretty much says this with a few explanations. as far as what Bush has said though, he is still countering the document JrnymnX posted. has he changed his position? if not, how does this document vindicate him in any way?
