AI may not have an advantage in discovering the afterlife and consciousness, but they may have a slight increase in experimental data advantage, since they can be rebooted back and up.
This seems like a lazy, egotistical response meant to make yourself feel better and puff yourself up while putting me down.
It really answers nothing and sheds no light on the situation, but it serves as a pat-yourself-on-the-back device. Very feminine.
I am not going to waste my time discussing feminine ideas about how to about living life with nihilistic finite ends. Such is the realm of soap books and common gossip.
You have blind faith that the you is gone when you die. You got no evidence. The personality may fade but the I does not inherently exist and so may parasite off other forms. You have no idea one way or the other but you want us to put our head in the sand and discuss about meaningless trivia until we die.
The advantage of discovering the afterlife? What does this mean exactly? Are you speaking metaphorically-mythically about human capacity to produce aesthetic-religious ideas, or about a literal “afterlife” that we are able to discover (and an AI is perhaps unable to discover)?
And if an AI cannot “discover consciousness” then how do you explain the difference between artificial intelligence and human intelligence, with respect to “consciousness”?
We have finite IQs. Most of us here have an IQ lower than 200 except for Ecmandu.
If we had IQs of say 700 or so, i believe our understanding of consciousness and the afterlife would be able to have us devise a scientific experiment and personal understanding revelatory way of understanding consciousness and the afterlife that isnt religious and blindfaith based.
Therefore, discussing modernity is a valid and noble means of philosophical discourse, since one of the leaders of modernity actively says that they wished everyone had 90 IQs, which i find is very scary and disconcerting.
On what basis of reasoning or evidence do you conclude that a sufficiently high enough IQ would be able to test for and demonstrate “consciousness and the afterlife”? What is your basis for believing these things exist in order to be potentially proven at some future date by some future genius?
Because that is nature of genius, discovering uncharted territory.
A chimp wouldnt even begin to understand what an XBOX is. A cavewoman wouldnt either. Yet, thanks to genius we have unfolded understanding we would have never thought to think of.
Some things are just beyond our reach, all it takes is a stepping stool. Other things are right infront of our faces.
Ok, so your hypothesis is based on the nature of genius to disclose previously unknown things, and not based on anything about the ideas of “afterlife” or “consciousness” (as you understand it, as something seemingly different than “intelligence” (you have yet to explain the difference)).
However, you still have a problem: chimps and cave people have literally NO idea of Xboxes. Whereas we “regular people/ non-geniuses” already have ideas of afterlives and consciousness (spirit?) in fact these ideas have been around for thousands of years already.
So your analogy fails or at least needs to be updated.
Its just a crude analogy, your are looking to much into it. For example parrots are birds, they dont even know what the ord consciousness is. Some animals dont even recognize their own body in the mirror. How much more with humans, we live in a culture full of insane atheists and religious people who care more about football than consciousness. They said the plane couldnt be built but would they have said that if everyone had the tools to build a plane?
If we upgrade the world we upgrade the tools, if we upgrade the tools we upgrade the pools, in a world with 700 iq people shit would get done, serious science on consciousess and the afterlife would take place.
700 iq meaning wisdom and not standardize tests, a lot of high iq people are fucking idiots either obsessed with mundane mechanics or religion. I dont bestow the word genius to hardly anyone these days. The only true genius are daemons in my own consciousness.
So you take it for granted that there is sudh a thing as “consciousness” (beyond intelligence) and such a thing as an afterlife, despite that you have no reasoning or evidence for these things. Glad we cleared that up.
Are there any other things you believe in without reason or evidence, that you think genius will eventually prove?
Dont know what you are saying, it does not compute.
I will clarify what I am saying. There is a such thing as consciousness. The I does not inherently exist, consciousness is a soup of substance and color. Intelligience does not factor into it, either the soup exists or it doesnt, when we are on drugs we are not intelligient yet we are still conscious. Consciousness=existence. Intelligience is not the same as existence.
I did not say one way or the other I believed in an afterlife. If I believed in the afterlife I would have no reason to research the afterlife, you’d think. Yet here I am, the only reasonable individual in a sea of animal-minds, the only one who cares to research matters of utmost importance and ultimate things. Even atheists have blind faith to their nothingness-upon-death dramas.
I am also interested in researching this subject of the afterlife and a more “spiritual” nature of consciousness, which is why I am probing into your claims here to see from where they come, and what merit they might have.
It seems you have blind faith in consciousness being something beyond rote material-philosophical intelligence of the body/organism, as well as blind faith in the fact that the afterlife exists to be someday proven by a genius of 700 IQ. I’m not interested in blind faith, I’m interested in reasoning, evidence, and philosophy.
Consciousness and the afterlife are philosophically interesting topics to pursue, but so far I see no evidence that you are actually pursuing them at all, merely making your own blind faiths.
