One might wonder, if something “makes no sense” it must not exist, therefore the phrase is an oxymoron, it cannot label anything, because all things make sense. Therefore the phrase, “makes no sense”, makes no sense.
However, a discerning eye will see, that this refers to word salad. Ie. texts that are convoluted, shuts down your mind…speed reading…no longer focusing on the meaning…the words cease to “make sense”, you become unconscious to them. You no longer render the underlying concepts the words refer to.
We enjoy words, not because they compress things. We enjoy words, because they compress and then invert (expand) to more colourful things. Words let us see new things, see in new ways. If a word only compresses something, but does not refer us to something stimulating, to be rendered in our minds, it is useless, and “makes no sense.”
