Wisdom, Love and God, how do these relate? Is God wise? Is God loving? Is God loving in God’s wisdom, or is God wise in God’s love? Is there something else, something deeper than wisdom or love, that defines God?
I want to put forth an idea about wisdom and love, namely that wisdom is what love most desires. Wisdom is reason in love, or the reason of love, or what love needs in order to be. Wisdom is the lover’s discernment of the beloved; it is the lover’s knowing what measures to take, and what distances to keep, in order to make love, and to stay in love, by keeping the unity of love from breaking down. Wisdom is the rational mind with ears attuned to the beloved’s tonge, to their every move, and to their very breath. Wisdom is breathing in and out with the beloved, moving with them, being with them every step, not so close as to smother, or so far away as to be absent, but in that perfect place where two become one, where two remain one, and where one is all that there is.
Without wisdom love is an accident, or it isn’t at all. Wisdom desires love, for wisdom is reason in love. God loves. Was God’s love for us at first an accident? Whether it was or not, in God’s love God desires wisdom, and in God’s wisdom God desires love. Come, says God, let us reason with each other, let us discern each other’s every move and make love and wisdom together.
The great thing about wisdom is that it can be anything when paired with it’s mother, Faith. For example, “Peace Love”, can be translated directly into Greek as Pistis Sophia, for they are “Faith Wisdom” respectively, and even conversely. It can be “Hate Anger”, or “Angry Hate”. It can be “Divine Pedophelia” or “Pedophelia of Divine Pursuit”.
Since Faith and Wisdom and Knowledge are all Archetypes, the very nature of existence as all things use them constantly, they are the three roots of Yggdrasil (Their unknowable nature is control over the Nordic culture). When Odin, “screaming, took the runes” he attached himself to the archetypes he logically chose for the construction of the Earth (And quite possibly other things).
Although I’m deviating a bit, Faith Wisdom in Knowledge can be anything you want and be divine. In this way, there is no evil things lest it be subject to knowledge, which is an experience devoid of Wisdom or Faith (Although all things come from them).
Poimandres, I get that you are into a sort of Norse mysticism and have ideas about archetypes, but perhaps it would be useful to this discussion to have a better understanding of what wisdom is. I looked in Wikipedia for a definition, and the one I found there is as good as any that I have encountered:
So, mystifying as wisdom is, and difficult as it is to develop, there is a way to distinguish wisdom from foolishness: wisdom (wise actions or utterances) have outcomes that improve the state of the world, while foolish ones, while they may feel good at the time, tend to have negative outcomes. I think that the wisest acts and ways of being lead eventually to the advancement of civilization.
I can see how one might consider Faith to be the mother of Wisdom: There is very wise advice in the scriptures of the revealed religions, as well as from sages and elders. While that advice may not make sense to a person, if they have sufficient faith in it to follow it diligently, the eventual outcome is likely to be good. Those good outcomes are called confirmations of faith.
As for knowledge, I have heard it said that “wisdom is the appropriate use of knowledge.”
My friend, you have found no such thing. This newfound knowledge is the daughter of your wisdom, which has taught you not to trust yourself, and even this wisdom is like a slave to your mind, which (Being male, in this case) has caused you to follow one course of action. You might find more wisdom in being creative with yourself rather than allow your mind to be brainwashed and programmed to only one wisdom, which does not draw root from within but from poisonous rivers that men have created for you by means of implementing a system of false needs.
I disagree; Foolishness is itself a wisdom. I play a fool to teach myself freedom every day. I am not bound by perfection, though it is foolish not to seek it. Therefore, foolishness is a wisdom embraced consciously by free people, and is embraced subconsciously by the ignorant.
Faith cannot be taught by an elder. I can tell you any word you choose is a Faith, but even more so is the truth of Faith Wisdom. All words, even Fuck Stick, just as Peace Love, can be used in sequence of this ritual belief. Is there anything in your life that cannot be squared down into these two words?
I have yet to see it. Wisdom is what comes from self, for we do not employ a fools wisdom consciously most times (I do, but not the point). Only a Wisdom that reflects self is used by self, and while it does not require “exterior” knowledge, becoming “All Wise” only requires “free knowledge of self”.
EDIT: To elaborate on what I meant by saying that I use fools wisdom alot, use this as an example; People ask me why I consider pain an orgasm, and I say “Pain is but an orgasm waiting to happen,”.
Ah, but I do trust myself! I had already been contemplating the essence of wisdom, and I find that it can be distinguished by the outcomes it produces. The definition i found only concurred with my own thought. The outcome was that you have shared more of your thoughts on wisdom.
To play the fool is an illusion of foolishness. From behavior that appears to be foolish, fine outcomes result: you learn greater freedom. Freedom from imitation of others is needed in the path to wisdom, as most people mistake propriety and decorum for wisdom. What I mean by “foolishness” is that which leads one to spiritual slavery and to the enslavement of the spirits of others.
I was referring to Wisdom being taught, not Faith. But what is this ritual of joining two words? I have faith in the power to communicate, with or without words, and Magic needs no ritual, only Faith and Will.
I agree with what you are saying (perhaps most of what you have said, aside from your misjudgment of my meaning.) I, too employ a fool’s wisdom, and am often judged a fool by others, but I see the path that is made by my unconformity, and do not regret. While the definitions do not speak of the wisdom that comes from within, I seek it there, but temper my path with such wise council as resonates within my spirit like music in a lute. What knowledge men have, and the power that it brings them needs to be tempered by wisdom. Un-wisdom will lead to great destruction, which will in time lead back to wisdom and the realization of our oneness.
