But my point is it never respected freedoms for all.
You know the United States was a country only European males were allowed to go to. Then only their wives of the men. Then to make communities, the governments in the colonies allowed women to go to them to increase the population.
Christianity was only allowed, the Freedom of religion was given to THOSE OF DIFFERENT CHRISTIAN SECTS, not to those of non-Abrahamic faiths. How Maryland was founded, the Quakers, pilgrims protestant - ALL of them were Christian they emphasised tolerance of different sects of Christianity because of the persecution of protestants in France and Ireland, and the former persecution of them in Spain and the UK. They were considered heretics. But no one dared to contend Christianity itself, just the different versions of it were tolerated.
Remember the Salem witch trials in history? That was going on all over the US. The US killed and forced conversions on the Native Americans, whose numbers dwindled so low they are only 1% today. Same thing happened in Canada. Especially Australia the aboriginals are more like .5%.
Same in New Zealand, but the Maori were fierce warriors so didn’t succumb to colonisation so much, but they did to Christianity.
Do you know they tied pregnant women to chairs? Did you know homosexuals were hung regularly? Capital punishment for homosexual orientation was just abolished not too long ago in American history. Gay marriage was only legalised in 201(3)?
Did you know about the forced reservations of Native Americans? Of Japanese during WWII in the US? Of capital punishment given to those deemed as spies in the 1950’s red scare? The banning of native American religious rituals and the Pow Wow dance?
Jim Crow laws only being abolished in the 1960’s?
Do you know about African American ‘Black’ wallstreet the European Americans burned down? The Chinatowns they burned down in Seattle and many other places because the Chinese immigrants were doing so well in business?
Did you know women couldn’t vote until the 1920’s? Did you know Africans were slaves until 185(6?)
You seem to be clueless on American history.
