At one point religion was an effort of the mind that saw chaos in this world, but which could imagine order in it’s mist, to organize intelligently, orderly all events it witnessed.
Whether they believe in 72 virgins waiting for them upon entrance or some other boom, reward or peace, if not all rolled together, it is simply because we vary as to exactly what that perfect order should be.
The views of heaven reveal the person’s opinion on what the conditions on Earth should be. We as humans may agree on the conception of order, even perfect order, but simply can never seem to agree universally as to what this order entails…just like beauty.
No longer are our minds so concerned with that most noble enterprise. So secularized we have become. In a way we are more like Buddhists, than like christians of old… But I wonder what is your vision, dear reader, of heaven = Perfect Order.
