The Real Source of Western Civilization

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy

The early Trojans were the real source of Western Civilization. After Troy fell to the early Greek barbarians in “1250 BC”, these Greek heathens looted, sacked, plundered, and raped the Ancient Trojans. The Greeks carried off with them the roots of Western Civilization and claimed it as their own. They stole philosophies, religions, and culture of these ancient people. This also happened to the Ancient Romans at the fall of their Empire, to brutal and gross German barbarians. It is time to give back to those slandered by the mythic Iliad and other lies. Truth is worth more importance.

The Ancient Greeks, and even the Germans, would have become nothing without appropriating from others what they never earned or created themselves. There is only so much cultivation a simple barbarian can learn on his own anyway. So now let us all know the true origins of Western greatness and power. Western power always has been built on a dynamic and opposition between the brutish barbarian against the keen empiricist. The latter are the real masters.

Culture-stealing has been going on since the beginning of time, and still goes on now - oh when will it end! #-o

Never.

The entire point of this thread is to repeat the self-evident that all civilizations are founded on what precedes them - and humans for that matter - and that nothing truly unique ever comes about, but only creative ways of combining what already exists?

Man…this forum is educational.

You know, I’ve never hear of the Greeks being referred to by the name they had given to anyone that did not speak Greek (barbarian) nor have I ever seen anyone claim that the Trojans gave the Greeks civilization.

Must have been ill that day at school.
Thank goodness for the internet.

Internet school is in session!!! Get your historical facts HERE. Keep in mind this is the THESIS forum where we can put forth wil;d accusations and postulations. Isn’t it funNY??

You have no idea how funny it is…or why. The last only makes it all the more funnier.

What matters is what you do with those borrowed ideas. Did you improve upon them? Cultural developments have never been patented and copyrighted in the past. Only a mind thoroughly entrenched in the ideological matrix of capitalism could think in this manner. So it does not matter if the Trojans or the Eygptians were major influences on the Greeks. They advanced upon these foundations, added their own unique cultural sense to them and in turn influenced the rest of the world.

TBH, when you’re having fun and thinking you’re so awesome, being a fool is not that bad. What sucks is when you realize that you yourself are a fool, get embarrassed by your foolishness, and can’t seem to completely banish it in the future. You see guys, the Sumerians stole ancient genetic knowledge from the Annunaki, isolated the foolish genes and then proceeded to implant them into the surrounding populations to make them subservient for all times. When the Annunaki decided to hide behind the scenes, the overabundance of foolish slaves could no longer be held back and overthrew the Sumerian reign and a great many civilizational developments were losts for the most part. The sad thing about this is that the few scientists who escaped the foolish reign brough their knowledge to various parts of the world like China, Egypt and South America, but the reptilians censored much of it and held back civilization until the time was ripe for them to create our late capitalist prison planet.

The question on the origin of cultures is an interesting one and difficult to answer. Clear is only that it is heavily evolutionary, meaning that certain aspects (one might say “the most successful”) were passed on, or stolen :stuck_out_tongue:, to become the civilizations and cultures we have today, while even these are not to be seen as “end products”, but much rather one further step in the evolution of culture. All philosophy has its roots in other philosophies, if consiously so or not.

Point: If the Greek got it from the Trojans (a point on which I am not really sure), the Trojans got it from somewhere else! They are therefore not the grass roots, to use a term ridiculously abused in conservative America, of “western Civilization/Culture”, but merely a stepping stone on the way to it.

It was unecessary, but I wanted to get a word in anyway! Good night.

Civilization like the individual is a culmination of its entire past, as this was shaped through interacting with other cultures and the environment in general.

To speak of 1 and only source only exposes the simplicity of the mind proposing it, and implying that any culture is unique, in that it falls, as if, from outer space, exposes it as being naive.

All creations are the sum of other elements…and the same can be said for Western Civilization which is associated with Hellenism because there, in that civilization, many of its basic tenets coagulated and were brought into focus.

Given the previous much time has passed since, including other cultural influences which have buried these tenets beneath more recent influences.

The real source of Western Civilization actually begins with this, unless as some scientists believe, this is simply an effect of another source. Lest we forget. We have to give credit where credit is due, no? In order to see an entire picture, do we not have to go back all the way? #-o
