The real value of our ''ad hoc'' world

let us review what ‘‘ad hoc’’ means, of the moment,
to make a theory work, say Descartes ‘‘I think therefore I am’’
to make that work, Descartes brought in an ‘‘ad hoc’’ belief
that makes his ‘’‘cogito, ergo sum’’ to work… and that
‘‘ad hoc’’ belief is god… his guarantee, and he uses that word,
that his system works is god… and that is a belief that comes
out of nowhere in this work… but it is just that, ‘‘ad hoc’’,
of the moment to save his statement of ‘‘cogito, ergo sum’’
he has to bring in some proof that it is as he says it is
and given his ‘‘story’’ his bringing in god is really his only
choice… he has nowhere else to go… so he ‘‘ad hoc’’
god into his story and suddenly it works…

So, now we are ready for the main thread…
Which is the ‘‘culture wars’’ of the last 40 plus years…
there was no such thing as a ‘‘culture war’’ before Rayguns
presidency, and suddenly, it became a thing… but one has
to ask, why? Why did this, ‘‘the culture wars’’ become a thing?

If you are focused on such ‘‘ad hoc’’ matters like gay people or
trans people or children being cats and using litter boxes in
schools, then you are being fooled, tricked… the point
of the ‘‘culture war’’ issues is to get you to look away from
what is really happening… that the very wealthy in this country
has gained 95% of all the wealth created in America over the last
25 years… or that we have been continually in wars over the last
25 years, not to protect ourselves, nah, to benefit the military-industrial
complex which actually dominates America… but if you are focused
on a trans person reading children books in library’s, then you aren’t
on the massive movement of wealth in America from the Middle and lower
class to the upper class… the point of taxes is that they are used
to move wealth from one class to another… and that movement isn’t
to the middle class or the working poor, nah, it’s to benefit people
who don’t need it… Gates, Ellison, Musk, are all beneficiaries of
this massive wealth transfer in America… but how would you know
if you are focused on the culture war issues? and therein lies
the entire reason for the culture war issues, to hide and cover
up this massive transfer of wealth and power from the political
institutions and the middle class to Musk and company…

or have you notice, or even care that the U.S is now 57th in the
world in having basic freedoms that are taken for granted elsewhere…
we have ICE, SS demanding papers to travel about, that is clearly
Nazi Germany terrain… and we have less and less freedoms such
as the right to an abortion, to political freedom, to the freedom
of the press… I have heard that it is becoming increasingly more
and more difficult to travel about Washington DC because of
ever increasing security… the White House itself has become
ever increasingly fortified, there are fences everywhere now
in DC making movement around the Capital and the White House
harder and harder… there is talk of increasing the security zone
all the way into Lafayette Square and preventing it’s use…
the pretense is security, but the goal is to prevent its use
as a place to protest, as people have done for years…

But how would you know if all you hear is about the trans
person using the women’s restroom? That is by designed…
to keep us, American citizens from thinking about what is
actually happening… it is an old magician’s trick…
keep people focused on anywhere but where the actual trick
is being preformed…

so, in reality this gay and trans culture war stuff is designed
to keep you looking at anything but what is actually happening…
and if you keep following the ‘‘ad hoc’’ stuff, this temporary
crap designed to see where the money/power is actually going…
you are being fooled…

and the same goes for conspiracy theories… it is simply
an ‘‘ad hoc’’ method of looking over here instead of
looking at how the middle class is being destroyed
in order to get the 1% even more money and power…
and you wish proof?

in 2016, Elon Musk net worth was roughly around 11 billion,
in ten years, his wealth has jumped to roughly 900 billion…
and the same goes for virtually every single billionaire…
Warren Buffett was worth roughly 60 billion dollars and today,
he is worth roughly 115 billion,
Jeff Bezos, was worth 45 billion and today, 368 billion dollars…
and mind you, there was one of the worst economic crashes
in American history from 2020 to 2023… and still vast
amount of wealth moved from the middle and working poor
to the very wealthy… and still, you focus on Trans people
going into women’s bathroom… is that really the problem
that is going to end America dominance? Really?

and that is the value of the ‘‘culture wars’’
it is just a shiny object to keep your eyes on it,
instead of what is really happening…

Kropotkin

Well, no. Descartes did not ‘bring in God’ to support his cogito, ergo sum. They are independent. In Meditation II, Descartes calls Cogito, ergo sum (“I think, therefore I am”) a self-evident, standalone truth. Even if an all-powerful malicious demon is deceiving him about everything else, Descartes must exist in order to be deceived. The very act of doubting proves his existence immediately—no God required.

He literally brings God in later in his arguments: in Meditation III, for a completely different purpose: to escape solipsism and validate the reality of the external world. And he doesn’t just pop God in ad hoc, he makes an argument for why God must exist. I don’t think his argument holds, but what you are saying about Descartes is just incorrect.

This is incorrect also. Of course there were culture wars in the US before Reagan and the term actually started being used in the 19th century. English and US newspapers starting using it after it was translated from the German and then it focused on tensions between secular and religious ideas of society and also differences over education. It continued through the 20 century focused a lot on religious vs. secular issues, but also over other issues. During the Cold War the term was used a lot in relation to censorship, artistic freedom, educational curricula, and traditional moral standards.

And then we have the 60s and 70s where the counterculture came in turning the focus of culture wars to describe increasing political conflict between social conservatives and progressive liberals over gender, family, and traditional values.

Here I agree. Though if true, you should probably end the who anti-anti-woke campaign and focus on the on ‘what is really happening’. And yes, one of the many issues the culture wars distract us from are the wealth disparities and the ever increasing power and wealth of the elite few.

What you are arguing is a conspiracy theory. And most conspiracy theorists are well aware of the ever increasing disparaties of power and wealth. What you are arguing would have been dismissed as conspiracy talk, now less.

And again, this holds for both sides in those culture wars. The elites love it when they demonize each other. And they love it that people think there are two teams and these two teams are at war.

So, how will this affect what you write about, if you do believe what you are saying here?
