The revenge of the lion.

If the lion species became cognitively aware by some mishap or miracle of nature would it be acceptable or understandable in killing all human beings that infringe on their territory that kill their very enviroment?

Wouldn’t they be in normal reaction in killing human beings so that they couldn’t be put into zoos or becoming some exotic pet?

I look forward to all replies.

I believe that if you go against other people’s rights, you should lose your own untill you make up the wrong you did (in some idealistic wrongs, you should spend time contemplating your wrongs).

In this analogy we are talking about lions not humans.

Justified or not, I don’t think they’d have much luck with killing off humans- people must outnumber lions by a factor of a million to one. And no matter how smart they are they still wouldn’t have opposable thumbs, making technology and videogame playing impractical.

If lions suddenly became as/more intelligent than homo sapiens, their best bet would be to find a way to communicate that fact to us. If we knew they were intelligent we’d probably treat them much better.

Or exterminate them…

Fair enough.

But let us assume that there is a plausible way for them to slaughter humans by the hundreds everyday, wouldn’t the act be understandable if they killed?

A lion is a carnivore and a predator. You assume that it would hold a grudge.

Hardly… If it gained sentience it would comprehend the predator and carnivore traits. It might compete but, vengence would not be its motive. There is a series of books that adressess this, its called the Man Kzin Wars, I can’t recall the author right now, I will dig through my library and find it. I think it will interest you. It is among my favorites. I don’t recall authors easily. Jut the books, the writer is of no importance to me. Unless they tickle me with curiosity or their name is blabbed throughout the media.

one author that has my attention:

Anne McAffrey has the most resplendant imagination I have seen to date.

She has helped launch several careers that are worthy. I buy their books too.

Why wouldn’t vengeance be a possibility to lions?

Why would lions need to justify anything to their potential victims and inferiors?
=;

 Good point.

So are you saying that lions are indeed rationally appropiate in revenge against humans?

Revenge is a justification.

So killing humans would then be acceptable to you with revenge being a appropiate action.

I couldn’t agree more.

And?
:-k

I am now going to do a complete 180 and turn this around.

If lions are acceptable in killing humans who destroy their enviroment and seek to put them in zoos then it wouldn’t be odd for enslaved human beings to kill other humans for having absolute control of their enviroment putting them in degrading positions just like a zoo in many ways.

Distressed animals and humans are one in the same giving morality a chase for it’s money where it does not apply.

Points above.

AND? :-k ](*,)

Feel free to let loose expressive opinions.

Morality?

Both the lions and the humans would have morality on their side.
They would have a morality.

How would they have a morality?

They are both pissed off and enraged on a murdering spree due to the harm done on them through years of abuse.

I am not seeing morality although I do see a implication of relative vengeance.

See now you are using your morality to judge their potential actions.
Who made YOUR moral values THE moral values and why would they give a shit?

Okay let us play along.
So the avenge themselves on their past aggressors, and?
Is this going anywhere?

All I am saying is that both the lion and enslaved human being are appropiate in their vengeance as a way of self preservation.

Vengeance is a reaction to the action of abuse. No moral sentiments are attached to actions or the reactions that come from them.

You still haven’t pointed out any form of morality.
