The "Saw" Franchise

03.16.07.2004

I had already known that there’s going to be a Saw IV this coming October 26th… but what I didn’t know is that there also will be a Saw V. Honestly… how long can we wait around for Jigsaw to finally die of his “inoperable tumor”? Is anyone tired of seeing this guy constantly say he’s “already dead” and that he’s gonna die soon?

The producers have managed to put out a Saw film every year since 2004… that’s gotta start setting a record sometime. We can probably bet that Saw V will come out in late 2008… and perhaps… just perhaps… we can expect Saw VI in 2009; which by then the sickly John Kramer must ultimately die. Until then, we can look foward to Jigsaw making recordings that always start with “Hello (insert name), I’d like to play a game…” and a now trademark quote “Oh yes, there will be blood” is much expected.

Oh… and just in case I didn’t mention it… there will always be blood.

I have to say, I really enjoyed the first one.

The second one was more of the same, but not bad. What you see is what you get.

The third one betrayed the entire concept. Made me sad.

Really? Now see I thought the first was one of the scariest movies in recent creation, and the second ruined the concept, made it feel like a teenager slasher film. Glad I didn’t see the third, shamed that they are making two more.

how soon we forget jason and the campers…
