Helping students use tools can certainly be part of a teacher’s role, but their main task is that the student learn the subject of the class.

The subject of the class in question here now is excavators and how to operate them. End of story.

As part of that teaching around tools, now they generally explain and demonstrate what use enhances learning and what use interferes with learning the subject of the course. Students who use AI to seem to the teacher like they understand the course and to avoid needing to learn are negatively impacting their learing of the subject.

you seem to be under some sort of delusion that the “students” want to learn the subject of the course and class.

Which is obviously never going to be the case when the so-called “students” are being forced into “education systems” and classrooms.

And, what is also blatantly obvious is that if a “student” really has the desire to learn a particular subject and/or course, then they will just go ahead and do it anyway, without or without you so-called “teachers”.

If the ‘current’ “education system” went back to the previous and actual ‘educational system way’, then the “teachers” would do what is best for the “students” and for society and ‘draw out’ from the “pupils” what it is that they are truly interested in and really do want to learn. Which is the exact opposite of the ‘current’ system when this is being written.

Not everyone wants to learn how to operate excavator, obviously, so teaching those who do not want to learn is just another waste if “time” and “resources”.

No one can negatively impact one’s learning of something that one never wanted to learn anyway. And, there is no such thing as ‘needing’ to learn anyway.

Some adults are just delusional when they claim things like “students need to learn …”. The only ones these types of adults are fooling and deceiving are “themselves”.

They are also moving in the direction of getting, for example the right to certain roles, or certification of the institution that they know X, when they don’t know X or can’t do Y.

That is a kind of fraud.

The earth is, we might as well say, full of adults completely incompetent of the “roles” they take on and were giving in Life. One only has to look at the so-called “leaders” of country, which were elected or voted in by adults that had and were given ‘the role’ and responsibility of being “voters”. And, this is without mentioning any of the other ‘roles’ handed out by “educational institutions”. A lot of those roles are filled by the most useless individuals, as they just did what was needed to manipulate “the system” to get there.

The “whole system” which these cult followers are not yet fully aware of, and which some still believe, absolutely, that they are not in and so do not belong to, is fraudulent and created so they all believed that money is needed, but rigged in a way so the majority are always working while only a very few obtained most of the money.
