I am watching for how much (of) the world hates religion. I only am on this one forum and i see plenty of evidence, but what about the rest of the world?
How widespread is this pidgeon holeing and hatred of “religion”?

It is widespread. Although personally what I hate is when people tell me or anyone else their beliefs are better or that I am wrong. And I think what happens is alot of people get so angry with what religion has done over time and today that they lash out.
Although this hate certainly does not bring down the numbers of religious folks.
There are hateful religous people, just as there are hateful atheists. It’s tragic.
Why can’t we all just … get along?
I hate brainless cloned know-it-alls. If you don’t shove your beliefs down my throat before I get the chance to shove mine down yours we can be best buds.
People will believe what they think sounds most reasonable to them. Believers hate non-believers, believers hate believers, non-believers hate believers, non-believers hate non-believers, people will hate themselves and people will hate others. Hate is hate.
Since we’re all like sponges and fight like sumos, fat filled…sponges… mmk, we take what we know and try to empower ourselves with it. We know ourselves and we know other people so if we can form and understand with knowledge why not humanity? Humanity is more than knowledge though. Humanity absorbs it and fights for it. So, I think that’s where hate comes in and wrecks us. You treat people like property because that’s about the extent you can cope with them. Unlike knowledge, people actually absorb and fight back.
I’m just wondering why I used sponges and sumos as metaphors…
Double post
In all honesty until this point I did not even notice the odd comparison : )
I would say that this “hatred of religion†is an exception to the rule.
Those who come to forums like this are usually of a particular type, with similar interests and general outlooks.
Because of this the false impression is created that the majority sees religion with a unfavorable eye when most cannot function without it.
I think a hatred of religion is almost inevitable, given the way it’s been used to bugger up the world lately.
Phaedrus:
The bush ‘holy war’?
i’m interested in trends to indicate any or all mass uprisings against religion collectively.
also, thanks for the clarification satyr. i needed “info from outside the forum” so to speak on this issue.
also,i saw on another thread that the statue of libery’s torch was replaced with a cross.(km2_33’s pic) is that true?
Actually, isn’t it more of a Bush “Haliburton war”?
Economy, not religion, in Iraq.
I think that people hate Bush more then they hate Jesus, and Bush is still in power, so I don’t see religion falling so fast.
Iraq is just the camels nose, so to speak. The picture’s a lot bigger than that.
I don’t really know who could hate Jesus… weird one.
Of course not Dan, God exist, Religion won’t fail ever.
Someone must have hated him. You don’t nail someone to a board unless you’re really pissed off.
I’ve heard that only 1% of Muslims are jihadists.
Probably, the rest just LOVE religion!
…and so do the masses of Christians!
To be fair, the jihadists probably love religion just as much. Maybe more.
I don’t see Tao, Buddha, Hindu, Magick & Jian posts around here as bad and worthy of atheist critic.
All I see is Christendom & Muslim attached to the word “religion”.
I can’t stop the American English word culture here.
We could make fun of them, too, if it will make you feel better.
Oh it’s much more than that, they even named a feeling off this brutal experience, excruciating.
Jesus did nothing wrong, he proclaimed truth. We do that today, however I guess I’m hated by that… I don’t hate anti-theist, I just don’t like what they do, but here again anti-theist proclaim their truth as well.
For someone to hate Jesus in todays era, they really don’t have a good reason to unless they hate freedom of speech and totally kindness and non comformity, oh and lets not forget miracles. Feels like a good time to bring the tri-lemma in about this point but I think you get the picture.
You don’t speak the truth, Club- you parrot the religious opinions you recieved as child. The only truth is your hubris, your supreme arrogance that your indoctrination & dogma is more true than anyone elses. And I can’t speak for others but I don’t hate you- I pity you.
