the truth shall set you free

ok here we go-----------
there are two kinds of truth------------scientific truths and religious truths…
an example of scientific truth is the atomic theory of matter…
an example of religious truth would be the value of the golden rule…

Free from what? Free for what?

very good question…i like to treat people kindly mainly because it makes me happy…i must be a big ego…

What does that have to do with freedom or truth?

What a happy little girl…How I envy You :eusa-liar:

good question and easy answer…it frees me up and it is true for me…i like to be happy…

So when you are unhappy then you are unfree and untrue?

not necessarily but i am not the smartest vegetable on the truck

What does smartness have to do with it?

Smart people and dumb people can be unfree.

The myth of happiness is central in the mind of a modern dolt. And yet…it is need, weakness, sadness, a lack that drive us upwards, onwards, to create, to think to Become.

No matter how unhappy he might be he must maintain the pretense that he is happy…and that this state of mind is a result of his “correct” choices and superior attitudes.
Have you seen a drunkard or someone high on drugs or a church goer?
Most have this smile stuck on their faces and this distant stare, like a deer charmed by a light.

Hypnosis on a massive scale.
The American dream…all is equated down to material or hedonistic pleasures and all are happy in their unique similarities.

 :banana-dance:

i like to be happy…

Do you mean in the old sense of when we stop lieing to ourselves? acknowledging reality being the key to unlock the happiness we all seek to possess?

What does smartness have to do with it?

Smart people and dumb people can be unfree.

It seems to me that intelligent people are happy (unfree) less often than less-intelligent people…that less-intelligent people seem freer and happier than people with ‘higher’ intelligence. I suppose there may be different kinds of intelligence. Maybe ‘dumb’ people have a higher emotional IQ than ‘smart’ people. Yet I have always thought that emotional IQ was a learned thing.

It does seem that sticking to the truth does free you up…less effort and time spent trying to make untruth seem true. It also seems true that one thing may be validly true to some and not to others.
