There Is No Future Of Humanity

If you read all the discussions of the future it is purely a mechanical and digital one where we as a species become more mechanical or digital ourselves.

Such discussions go to great lengths in describing that we as a biological organisms will become obsolete amongst our own creations and artifacts in the distant future where the only way we can survive in this absurd undertaking of ours is to become robotical machines ourselves.

There is no future of humanity largely because through the mechanization of the future we as a species will become mechanical thus eradicating our biological selves for somthing much more robotic.

Our absurd future is one where we will become one with machines until there is no humanity beyond a single thinking machine.

There is no future of humanity apart from there being a future of cyborgs and mechanical copies of humans.

That is the future of humanity. ( Minus the humanity of course.)

Joker? Is that you?

maybe, or maybe its like Joker+robots = mr.doom.

whats so special about keeping inferior biology anyway? medical patients seem to like it plenty. I wouldn’t mind living an extra 40 years on a mechanical heart if i had the need either. If it were possible, i mean. Which it might be soon in the next few decades. or decade.

I want pistons in my legs and guns mounted on my shoulders!

Human beings need to be upgraded, i.e. lose the feral impulses of their barbarian biology, I wouldn’t mind getting a body that doesn’t feel pain, being able to turn off my pain receptors when I need medical / mechanical attention. The problem with biological parts is that they decay like crazy, they are not easily serviced and they are not easily replaceable. Hopefully this might change a bit as medical science advances… but I won’t see it in my lifetime.

Our bodies suck, who wants to be stuck in them? Just think of the crazy crap you could do if you had an extremely strong exo-skeleton like they are beginning to make for military soldiers, or never get tired again! Or be awake ALL the time, without having to sleep without any of the drawbacks… it’d be friggin awesome.

harrison? harrison?

You sound like one of those mechanical futurists yourself.

In the future I imagine people will be trading in limbs for their imperfections in their goal of mechanical immortality.

To live like mechanical gods that will be the motto of the future.

We are already mechanical, look at protein synthesis, RNA and dna replication, all we would be doing would be making the machinery (biology) of what is already there better, and removing the bad parts.
