If things made anybody
Less lonely longer,
There would be nothing
But me and it.

Unless the thing was a human.

“Things are in the saddle
And ride mankind.”–Emerson

But then, is that really the answer? Sometimes too much of a thing, a good thing, can make one more lonely after a time.
The trick is to find balance in the “thing”. Any thing or person if not relating to it with some kind of balance, though of course, it’s okay to get carried away sometimes, will lead to more loneliness or boredom.
