Think of your favourite philosophical problems [keep it short if possible], then ask or provide a question which move override it.
e.g.
A, if you could change the genes of a fertilised egg such that they would be superior to the natural version ~ the child you would have otherwise had, would you do it?
B, if other have already done so, would you want your child to be left behind.
Ba, if such was against the law but there was a black market piece of technology, which would do the job, and some people inevitably used it, would you use it or feel you had to?
c. many generations later there exists a small race of next generation evolutionary humans - let us say, what does humanity do about that?
A. but e.g. the tiger is a magnificent animal and must be kept for future generations to study and enjoy!
Qb. They eat people, should people serve themselves and their children up to the tigers? isn’t that far more immoral than killing tigers? The only way to not do that and keep them alive, would be to cage them up forever or give them large tracts of fenced off land.
Qc. I saw a documentary once where this guy went and sat near a lions den, a male lion came over in a threatening manner, the man held up a toilet roll in a threatening manner, and the lion stopped in its tracks. isn’t it simply true that animals cannot cognate such things, they don’t attack you in an open top vehicle on safari because they just cant work it out. They are just incredibly stupid dung makers [not green] and the thought of them eating people is a nonsense, we are the top of the stack and so should make the world safe and use all the good lands for ourselves.
Q2. Creatures that eat food we eat should be killed.
A. there should be less humans or our planet which doesn’t belong to us wont survive.
Q2b. If not controlled [in both Q1 & Q2] then humans will remove all obstacles to getting food. There will in a few generations be more humans than the current food supply can handle.
Ultimately you have to control animals forever which is probably not achievable, so why stave off the inevitable!
I am not taking a position here, just interested in the arguments.
