I’ve always liked woody Allen.
Where’s Wallace Shaun when you need him?

A great ode to movies.
P.S. I checked out your blog and noticed that one of your favorite films is Igby Goes Down–mine too, and I rarely find anyone who has even heard of it
Monty Cantsin,
Woody is the best. I’ll be watching his films all my life.
lengthheightwidth,
I think you mean’t Wallace Shawn, and yea, I could use some of his input as well. (Don’t worry, I can’t spell either - and I used Wikipedia to figure out who you were talking about anyway).
btrflykng9,
Thanks btrfly. Igby goes down is one of my all-time favorite films. One of the most depressing films I’ve seen as well - I remember after watching it for the first time having to go take a walk in the park in order to regain some type of balance, I dare not say sanity. A beautiful film.
Thanks for the spelling correction on Wallace Shawn (not Shaun). Another great classic foreign film with cool scenes employing the game of chess as an integral vehicle for the story is the original version of The 7th Seal that cam e out in the late 50’s - not too be confused with the late 80’s big-budget Hollywood movie which starred Debra Winger.
Speaking of the name Shaun, one of my most favorite recent films is the zombie parody-homage “Shaun Of The Dead” which I initially dismissed when the previe trailers for it were running a couple years ago but found that it was actually a good movie when I saw it on DVD at a friend’s house a little more than a year. I especially like the special feature that provides little tidbits of trivia while the movie is running on the various actors that appear in the movie along with inside jokes that the film-makers used in the film as to why certain songs were chosen for the soundtrack, for example.

I’m not really too sure about Zombie flicks, but I will check out The 7th Seal - thanks for mentioning it.
You won’t be sorry about 7th Seal–that’s a fabulous film.
Give Shaun Of The Dead Achance too - I think you’ll be pleasantly surprized.
