Alright so this has been bugging me since I was like 8, what is the meaning of the phase " The World is your Oyster." I will say it sometimes because it sounds funny, and always thought it to mean something like " The world is yours, make something of it" type thing, but I want the solid interpretation of it. Where did it come from for that matter.
From what I understand, the saying is based on the oyster’s nature. Sand gets in the oysters mouth, and by some process it turns it into a pearl. Something to do with that, I’m sure.
