In the US, we put such a high value on unobstructed presidential statements, that the few restrictions we make on free speech are suspended during presidential races, any candidate for office is allowed to make commercials and gave them aired without censorship rules on any topic when running for president.
Obviously, the ideas of the president follows as equally important, but not to twitter.
It is going to becomes a rat infested sinking ship if it starts attacking the statements of the president a d government, pulling a full blown Magsj, it all of their twisted audacity, if they think they are anywhere in a moral high ground in attacking free speech in this most crucial position. Can you imagine the number of people who would flee twitter if Twitter’s blantant super fascism was exposed in such a manner, that not even the president could speak his mind honestly? Can you imagine the hacker war? I think a little more than a key scrapping of a few cars would result fromthe physical vandalism as well. America has never looked kindly on brown shirt tactics in the streets in repressing free speech, but when you target the freedom of the president to talk out loud, it becomes a point of extreme absurdism.
Twitter better never pull a Only Hunean. It is about as unethical and destructive as the platform can get. It shouldn’t be blocking or fucking around with the thoughts of anyone, what they think is what they think, censorship on such a platform is absurd, it’s literally thought policing, but especially don’t fuxk with sovereign head of states just cause a couple if confused as fuck, suicidal cross eyed shitheads in silicon valley decided suddenly they know better than democracy, and will teach the united states how to properly think.
You pull this shit, we will pass laws restricting what social media platforms can and cannot restrict. The crazy wild west days of private communication platforms pulling any stunt they want on members free communications will sharply cone to a end.
Twitter isn’t on the moral high ground, and never knows better when it cones to free speech. Crazy as shit pieces of bay fucking shit.
In my book, 2 niggas brush each other’s shoulda. 2 niggas unload a clip of uzi into each other after a nigga moment.
2 nigga’s hated each other. That’s a hate crime.
If a woman punches a mans balls after she files a divorce, thats a hate crime, woman hates her man.
Yes, twitter should respect the office of the president, just like you as a moderator should respect the free speech of philosophers. Don’t think for a second we forgot about that permabanning of Socrates with the Hemlock for corrupting the youth. We still haven’t gotten over it. Knock it the fuck off, problem lies in you.
Has nothing at all to do with them. Your making a irrelevant side case to this issue at hand, which is unethical abridgement of free speech in a democracy, especially that of the chief executive. The 4th Estate quickly looses it’s justification as a constitutionally protected body if it’s policies seek to systematically undermine the expression of the federal government, or that of the people. Once you start fucking with either, first amendment looses significance. We didn’t create it for the sake of protecting tabloids running stories on Bat boy and Jack-O, but to ensure we could communicate as a society. That moves that aim to severe those communicative ties that bind are disturbing and needs to stop. I’m serious, abuse your power here, we will forceably Yank your capacity to play these fucking mind games and force groups like twitter to be more open and tolerant. Our democracy is on the chopping block of some radicals in twitter. It won’t be tolerated.
And yes you are Magsj. You ban and move and hide “ideas”. That’s pretty fucked up North Korean Censorship shit you do. Find a better hobby.
The block bot existed long before Trump won and so I see zero reason why he cannot abide by the rules if he does not want to get banned
However my own opinion on free speech is not to censor it at all unless there are actual consequences for not doing so so let him be I say
When your citizens speak freely nothing happens and they remain helpless and unhelped… irrelevant of colour.
What good would Twitter be without any Tweeters but only Trump’s extremest supporters left tweeting each other with no-one around to reply or even care… I hope that scenario does not happen and that they don’t make Trump look bad before he’s even had a chance to do good… or even do anything. The party need to let him do his job unhindered… he’s already been voted in for chrise sakes.
Still peeved over being moderated I see [pulls Turd’s cheeks] ah didums.
Telling people what to do yeah? or just a suggestion…
Don’t talk about things you know nothing about. Twitter allows leftists to call anybody they like racists, make threats, and in general be as horrible as they want to be. They also host hardcore child pornography. So don’t tell me about how Trump/conservatives are pushing Twitter’s envelope of decorum- they don’t have one.
These people- these leftists- they’re acting like they won. Like the world just gave them a huge mandate to crack down on their enemies. It’s like the Jill Stein recount thing- how can you lose this hard, then go on to flagrantly lie and do what everybody hates about you right in public?
I agree! our left-leaning parties here do that to us all the time… without reprisals, but the minute it happens to them/to Jeremy… Jeremy wants to take it to the courts.
Of course… this could be those against just trying to irk the new administration, but why play right into their hands. Corbyn hasn’t allowed for this to happen with his most extreme activists because it was making his administration look really bad… they abided by his wishes.
I find it amusing that the left always protest and riot when a right-leaning party win, but I also find it weird… because they know it’s a democratic voting system, yet they don’t mind making themselves look ignorant in doing so.
It’s not attacking his free speech to ban him from twitter. He can still speak about anything he wants anytime he wants. You think you should be able to force a private company to do business that they don’t want to do? Doesn’t ownership mean anything to you? If I have a bar, I’m not obligated to serve someone just because they’re legally allowed to drink. And me deciding not to serve someone doesn’t mean that I’m preventing them from getting drunk.
Of course you can. Isn’t that what every liberall boycott and bitch fest has been since the dawn of time? If Twitter goes the hardcore censorship route, then they will be exposed until dug into until they cease being profitable. Or should I say, continue being unprofitable. The State isn’t required for that.
