The political cry of candidates for decades has been “the U.S is the greatest country on earth”.
The actual fact of the matter is different, far different. Today there are no superpowers country left.
The U.S left that rank during the worst president in american history, bush jr who managed to reduce us
to a second world status, barely. Let us get to the truth at hand. WE ARE A BANKUPT NATION. if you add up
what you owe with how many assets you have and if you owe more then your assets, your bankrupt and we are.
That is an inescapable fact. We as a nation are bankrupt and we can’t do a dam thing about it except declare
bankruptcy and bring the world to the worst economic crisis it has ever seen. Apple computer has more money on
hand then the U.S government has and trust me, that is a bad thing.
There is no bright spot to point to and be able to say, yes, we are doing that right. Our failures are almost
too many to count, from failed wars in Iraq and afghanistan to the failed war on terror and drugs to the destruction
of the middle class to the failure in educating our young, to medical cost soaring beyond the ability of the average person
to pay for without medical coverage, to the gridlock of the political system and the outright buying of political influence now
on display in every state capital and the national Capitol. The U.S supreme court has legalize the buying of our politicians with
its citizens united action and those bought politicians are working hard for their money, not for us, but for those who have
paid for it, koch bothers for example. The right is trying to turn this country into a theocracy, not much different from Iran,
while the left is unable to hold the line because of our believe in tolerance and let people be who they are.
The blame for this whole disaster can be laid on many, many doorsteps from the U.S supreme court with its "bush vs gore
single worst decision in supreme court history including dred scott, to the insane right wing and its fixation on taxes,
which has slowly destroyed the entire infrastructure of the united states to the point where we will have roads and bridges
failing and costing people their lives, like minnesota last year? to the destruction of the school system to cities brought
to the point of bankruptcy and ending basic and needed social services. and the blame must go to the average american who has
their head in the sand, amusing themselves with their fixation on celebrities diets and dating habits and sports.
Obama could have been the leader who might have at least soften the collapse but his leadership style is the wrong style for
right now, (leading from behind as he calls it) to the complete lack of leadership from anywhere else in america.
We are so gone right now I would welcome the world’s end if it came in December, (and much to my disappointment won’t come)
I see no bright spot, no possible last minute save coming. I fear our final years as a viable nation will be very tortured and bloody
with a civil war that is on the way, a war that will make the earlier civil war seem tame and when the dust finally clears, we shall
an impoverished and third world country forever.
Now for all of you who say, I am chicken little or foolish or naive, I say unto you: keep your head in the sand. It is an excellent
place to rest your head.
