Unconditional Love

In April 2005 after a little league baseball game, a 15 year old boy Jeremy Rourke teased a 13 year old boy Greg Harris over losing the game. Greg Harris reacted to this petty teasing with a murderous assault. A CBS news article reports “Witnesses say a 13-year-old pitcher whose baseball team, the Angels, had just lost for the first time this season was being teased at the concession stand by a 15-year-old spectator when he pulled out a bat and beat him. The 15-year-old, Jeremy Rourke, died and the 13-year-old is under arrest for investigation of murder…"

Greg Harris was ordered to a youth detention center until he turns 25. But Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Richard Naranjo added that the teen could be paroled early if California Youth Authority officials decide it is appropriate.

Here is the question. If you were Greg Harris’ parents would you be able to still love him unconditionally? Would you be able to love your child and not their acts?
